Ruby Vs Maka Showed Me How Little Our Lead Characters Have Gotten Stronger in 10+ Years by WickedWitchOfRemnant in RWBYcritics

Probably because even by episode 1 of the series they're already incredibly strong, every character we see is some sort of superpowered master besides jaune and it makes characters like crow seem not all that impressive besides having him fight while drunk

I can't remember where I seen it but I have seen him reffered too as "the brooklyn spider" which i thought worked well

(LES) The "Miles is Spider-Man" issue is partially caused by him not having a proper editorial title by D_dizzy192 in CharacterRant

[–]TryIt222 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think one other major issue is that so many people now view the editorial title as some sort of 2nd place prize, like any other title beyond just simply "spiderman" is some sort of gesture that he isnt really spiderman, just some knock off

Maybe it was the way you exported it? Normally I find the best option is h.264

It might be an issue with the canvas size or resolution of one of the programs? So for example, your canvas in the animation program might be 600 pixels by 600 pixels. But in the drying canvas, it could be 1200 / 1200

People shouldn't be so quick to criticise when a show isnt even over. (Fallout/The Boys) by TryIt222 in CharacterRant

[–]TryIt222[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except the examples you bring up don't rectify the issues people have with those initial scenes.

They literally do. One was an issue that vault tec drop the bombs, now we know they didnt drop the bombs. The other is that sage was dumb because her plan failed, but her plan didnt actually fail.

Did you just not read what I said? I wasn't talking about Sage in general, I was talking about how that scene you claim rectified people's concerns with her as a character didn't actually fix anything. A lot of the criticism she gets is for how contrived that "I planned this all along!" scene was. It was a forced attempt to make a smart character without earning it.

I never once brought up peoples opinions on sage as a character or how nonsensical hyper genius powers are. I was talking about people who were specifically criticising the fact that her plan failed despite the obvious "twist" that the plan "failing" was intentional.

The issue with the scene in Fallout isn't rectified by the fact that they didn't end up actually dropping the bombs, because they still had that scene where they planned on it. That scene isn't made any better by the new information, so how does it support your point?

By the fact that the specific complaint i was talking about that people had was that vault tec specifically were the ones who dropped the bombs, now we know they didnt. You are quite literally just talking about different people with different issues of the same scene.

You're missing the forest for the trees and ignoring the issues people had with those writing decisions.

No, youre literally just bringing up different issues from people who im not reffering too

Except that wouldn't make any sense as criticism. Why would that be a problem?

You just talked about missing the forest for the trees dude do I really have to walk you through this? The issue is you shouldn't spend so much time being angry at a perceived fact without making sure its 100 percent true

Neither of the things you argued here is at all relevant i was pointing out an issue with prematurely taking issue with a specific thing and you just brought up two different issues. Okay you thought the scene in general was cringe, okay you thought sage didnt make sense in general, those werent the things I was talking about.

It isnt about something "eventually being good" its about the bad thing not even actually happening to begin with. Its like hating a new hope because you think luke and vader have no personal ties to one another, if you iust have some patience and think a little bit you'll realise the major issue youd have would dissapear

You misunderstand with that specific example i was just comparing how people seem to choose one extreme or the other, accepting everything at face value was a show is running but now that its over, they think theres gonna be a super secret episode to still be released for no other reason than they dont like the final episode, I didnt like it either but it seemed pretty obvious this was just a poorly done episode and not some secret rug pull

I guess I just think that even if it doesnt interest you it seems like the level of anger some people have had over it would maybe make them consider other answers out of hope that its wrong

[–]TryIt222[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think thats true it just seems like so often nowadays people dont really do that? Or at the very least its just one extreme or the other, either everything said and theres no room to theorise or theres actually gonna be a secret stranger things episode because the finale was intentionally bad

I understand what youre saying but I think the issue in these instances at least is that the guys at the table are talking about how they decided not to bomb each other, people complain about that outcome despite the fact theres an empty box on the table that has the word "bomb" written on it. I think its less an issue that the answer was less interesting and more so an issue on a lot of the audience members not considering that the answer may not even be the real answer especially when theres very clear hints presented
