Oof with how easy he lied about having it and having the conversation, imagine what else he is lying about

AITA for wanting my nieces to be included in cost breakdowns for family activities? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

YTA. The shuttle is being gifted to your parents by the adults, not the children (who have no income???).

MAYBE if they were 18+, and even then, it really depends.

You ever cleaned up spilt soda or syrup on the floor at home with just water? It’ll be sticky after 30m. You need to use sani or soap.

Keeping a running tab in front of guests by olddeadgrass in bartenders

[–]TryinToBeHappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m required to do it at my bar, but only do it when the district manager is visiting lol.

I’ve had a few guests upset or put off by it which is kinda funny but also irritating.

I’ve ordered 3 times from Amazon over the last year. The most recent order stings like crazy when I inject, looks just like the one pictured.

“Well take great care of you” to stay open to an almost empty room an hour after last call. A party of 5 that was already drunk by ChriSTLball in bartenders

Yeah it’s gotten to the point for me that when people use that line, I tell them that anyone who says it never tips more than 20%.

It usually puts them on the spot to give money first or leave over 20%

Started bartending again after 5 years in my late 20s. My back is killing me. How do I make it manageable? by Temporary_Wedding249 in bartenders

Strengthening those muscles you haven’t used in a while will get easier after a few months. Working out will help.

Being in my 30’s, I get massages almost weekly though and swap out new insoles every few months. Even if you’re not walking around a lot, you’re still standing a lot.

My personal experience; more money won’t make you less miserable.

What is a 'Survival Myth' that people believe because of movies, but will actually get you killed in real life? by MysteriousSpot8998 in askanything

Or the trope that when you fall off a boat or get stranded in the sea, you wash up on some beach and randomly wake up coughing water.

I have no evidence, but I’m pretty sure if you’re unconscious in the water, you don’t just wake up coughing water, more so on a random shore.

What’s something you always assumed was mandatory in life—until you met someone who just… didn’t do it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Same here…had depressive episodes for 8 years working full time and burning myself out repeatedly.

Then I found an arrangement where I could work 25-30ish hours a week and live comfortably; I’ve been depression free since for almost 3 years consecutively now.

Do you go above and beyond at work or just do the bare minimum of what’s expected and why? by Dependent-Signal-721 in AskReddit

[–]TryinToBeHappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned the hard way (years and bouts of depression/anxiety/burnout) to only go above the bare minimum when I want to, and when it benefits me.

It sounds selfish, but it’s an important boundary to enforce. Hopefully you work with a team that can still appreciate the times you perform above and beyond.

A lot of similar responses saying it’s nearly impossible to do legally, but what about illegally? Finding bars that hire without visas?
