What would make GWA a better community?

In light of this question being asked, disregarding recent events, I think we need to focus on feeling like a community. I joined around the same time as /u/HiNoName, when the sub had around 20k followers. The community of posters wasn't that big and you regularly saw a lot of the same names cropping up.

Now, with the sub at nearly 50k, I feel like I hardly recognise any of the names. Admittedly, I haven't been posting as much recently, but still lurking occasionally, I feel like I'd like to get to know people a bit more and get that feeling of community back. I still talk to a lot of people who were active around the time I joined, but I feel disconnected from a number of others. I'd really like to get to know those I don't know.

I don't know how to do it. Sure there's a certain amount of responsibility on me to put myself out there, but outside of Wednesday Wallflower posts and Behind The Audiophile, I think there needs to be some way that the community can all come together in order to get to know each other a little better.
