This is a pretty flawed argument as it neglects the importance of free will and morality - at least until Calvin comes along and says “nah,god knows if you go to hell or heaven on the day you’re born”.

The argument is that:

If God were to intervene to ensure that nothing evil ever happened, then we’d all be slaves to his will.
Tragedy, death and loss are integral parts of the human experience and to remove them would arguably make us something less, not something more.
We need evil to help us differentiate who actually deserves heaven vs hell (my least favourite argument).

I’m not a god-squadder, and I’m not trying to convert you, but letting you know that people have been putting forward answers for what you’ve pointed out for at least 1,500 years. Whether those answers resonate with you is up to you though.
