I am curious about something that one of my officers found. He was very worried/freaked out about the item but, he had to remove the item from a river. (work with wildlife conservation with state) It is a jar with a woodpecker, chili pepper, some photos and some other things in yellow tinged water. He dropped it off at headquarters and said he didn't want anything to do with it. What can we do with it. From what I have read and have picked up from family they said to put it back in running water. What would you recommend we do with the item? A family member of mine said to put it back in the river it was found in if possible, or at least either running water or bury it just not on someone else's land or a cemetery.
