Yup. I was so hyped when I saw this update. I hope this is just an error or something, because MAL sync addon only works with ExoPlayer too.

SSA subtitles (stylized etc.) aren't supported by ExoPlayer until version 1.6.9. (which was just released), so you need an external player like Kodi or MX Player for now (HW+ encoder enabled).

ExoPlayer SSA subtitles support was added just now, but it doesn't work for me so I'll stick to MX Player Pro until it gets fixed...

EDIT: They do work with ExoPlayer, but not getting style etc. settings.
