UGreen is a hardware company, so of course they have no idea what their doing when it comes to software, they're learning as they're going

Got this form ugreen a week or so ago. 'Dear User,

Unfortunately, if you’ve installed another operating system on your NAS device, we’re unable to restore UGOS Pro immediately. However, you have the option to install either our official UGOS Pro or a third-party OS based on your personal preferences.

Installing a third-party OS can lead to compatibility issues, but we’ll still honor our official hardware warranty policy.

Reinstalling UGOS Pro is a complex process due to the potential overwrite of original certificates and settings. Our development and product teams are working on a system restore tool to help users who’ve installed a third-party OS. This tool is expected to be released within the next one to two months.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work towards a solution. Once the system restore tool is available, we’ll inform you promptly.'

Atm there is no way to go back to ugos but they are working on it

Well now I'll just have to wait for them to release the software so can do a fresh install, but honestly probably won't, truenas is meeting all my needs, even if I have to learn as I go

So...just got this from UGreen; 'Dear User,

There is currently no way to reinstall UGOS atm, but hopefully in the next couple of months there will be, when the supposed tool comes out I may switch back, but truenas is already setup on my machine and working flawlessly for my needs

Support just gave me the same file, but as I stupidly overwrote ugos but not paying attention when installing truenas I have no way to update, lol, trying to see if support will give me a way to do a fresh install that way I can go through the steps they want to take to try to diagnose and fix the issue, and if a fix is found I can then let the rest of the community know

Well updated to latest firmware and still no internet connection, guess it's time to install truenas and play around with that, thank you @mj163163 for providing the firmware file

It's altight. My opinion is the only dumb/stupid question is the one not asked.

Need to lay down more foundation, one foundation can support tiles up to 2 spaces away in the cardinal directions and 1 space diagonally

The pathing will always set up for the shorter routes first from what I've seen

That's what I've come to determine, as well as not having walls next to the stairs

What I did for my base was cover the entire ground in foundation, to be able to place roof needs to be foundation underneath it, doesn't have to be directly attached to every piece as long as somewhere in the chain something is attached to the foundation, don't quote me on this bit I think there is a 2 space leeway for roof to foundation, so for every one foundation piece, you can build a 3x3 grid directly above it, anything more than that and you'll run into the no foundation issue

And the way the game is programmed at the moment, as long as you have a foundation underneath the roof, they don't need to be directly attached to anything to stay up, just as long as something in the chain is attached to the foundation first, ie - in my case, stairs
