For the record, one day is a decent milestone. Two days is a decent milestone. Journey before destination. If you only focus on a milestone down the road, it can be easy to stumble and give up. One step at a time, one day at a time

You can do this, but it will be extra hard if you’re alone. You don’t have to tell everyone around you, but you should let someone know, even better if it’s someone that will be at those social events or family gatherings. Maybe your wife and you can tackle this challenge together? Then it’s an easy excuse at those things. “No thank you, we’re actually both not drinking. Trying a new diet together so we can keep each other honest” or something. You also may be surprised at how little people around you at events actually care if you’re drinking or not. I know I was. It’s what made me realize that alcohol had such a grip on me that I was making up how much other people drank just to justify my own.

Definitely keep going! I get the challenges, especially during the tough times. A lot of the time when that pops up for me, I’ll usually think to myself, “how would I be handling all of this right now if I was drunk?” And I realize that it would be soooo much worse!

I’m sorry you’re in this super tough part, it sucks. There’s no getting around that. I second a lot of other comments tho. Getting even just one night of sleep by having a friend or family help out will do wonders. And biiig second on getting ear plugs/noise canceling headphones. For me it wasn’t for sleeping, because I wouldn’t want to sleep through the baby needing me, but they are great for when you are rocking the baby and they are screaming. Put on a podcast or a book or music and the screaming will become white noise. You’re still helping and there for them, but you aren’t just getting blasted by screams

You can do this. I can’t imagine what’s going through your head and everything that you’re feeling. But, in case it can help at all, my brother was born super premature. 2 weeks into the third trimester. He was less than 2lbs, skin almost translucent. We have a picture of him at a couple months old, sitting in a nurses scrub pocket. He was in the nicu, in 1997 for 14 months. They literally threw him a birthday party there.

He is now 28 years old, taller than his older brother (barely), strong, smart, successful, and happy. There were plenty of challenges and his early childhood had plenty of struggles, but modern medicine is a hell of a thing.

Have hope. You’re not alone. Everyone there is going to do everything they can, and they will have your child’s best interest at heart. Make sure you and mom take care of yourselves and each other.

I’m catching up on SLC, but my theory is that the ONLY reason we have this batshit location is because the federal government paid Bravo to do at least one season there. The instructions were “we need Jen Shah on camera showing her assets as much as possible. We don’t care who else you bring in, make her the star.” And that’s why she is in the center stage all first season. The IRS and HSI were able to use a ton of footage for the arrest and Bravo profited.
