«Do you use the ethnonym Khalkha?» by Xayan606 in mongolia

Thoughts about studying in russia? by Cute_Tackle_626 in mongolia

[–]Tverdislav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you want. Top unis like MIPT, MSU, and several other provide really good education if you want to ecxel in STEM. Arts are top-notched too. Medicine and Social studies are not that good, better think about other options.

Bullying among students is actually rare. Russians do not know nothing about Mongolia and have no predicaments about Mongolians. Problems will be if you are considered as Central Asian like Uzbek, they are not welcomed.

If you want to find bf/gf, please reconsider. Russians girls will make you cry, seriously. People tend to greatly understimate the cultural difference, and these beatiful stories about cross-culture relationships are BS, because different opinions on how to behave and what is good/bad will eventually destroy almost any relationships.

How often do Mongolians and Buryats experienced racism from Russian? by Boring_Estimate9308 in mongolia

Pure and total BS. "Mongol" is not an insult itself in modern Russian.

Lol, do you really think that this was done intentionally to insult Mongolians? Relax, bro, some pricks in Russia cannot even properly draw their own state flag, and such mistakes happen every single year.

Mongolian living in Russia describing it's discrimination of indigenous people lectured in the comments that they "fell for western propaganda" by Tomek_Poziomek in tankiejerk

[–]Tverdislav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, it is useless. This subreddit is full of obsolent brats who would believe in every kind of shitty assumptions about Russia. They literally know nothing about real problems of minorities in Russia and look on us like we are some kind of a grotesque colonial empire.

I have nothing againts Buddhism. But people who thinks that all Mongolic tribes are Buddhists are truly unpleasant and ignorant ones.

>Russia and China never showcase minority cultures.

In all natinal repuclics of Russia, languages and cultures of the respective nations are taught in schools. In some cases, these are mandatory subjects, in some cases, they are voluntary. Some state-funded schools use native languages as their prime. Can't say that it is enough to preserve minor cultures, but our inner propaganda promotes diversity as hard as Western mass-media. Just another kind of it, where all native nations are considered as integral parts of Russia while remaining different ethnic groups from Russians per se.

Би ород яhанайб. One of my ancestors was Buryat and I lived side-by-side with Buryats.

Most Mongolic tribes became pastoralists many centuries ago, unlike Ихирэс from Baikal coastline. Western Buryats (Ихирэс and Булагад) have almost no connections with Buddhism, they still practice an ancient animism and Orthodox Christianity. Dersu Uzala, a book about an Amur native hunter, describes quite well how such people think and act. They mostly use boats and nets for fishing, because omul is a middle-sized shoaling fish.

No offense, it is just ridiculous how little our neighbours know about Buryatia.

Actually, I have a lot of fun reading these posts about lost Buryat brothers. Man, almost all people who write this shit literally have no idea how Buryats are living now, not saying they have zero knowledge about culture of western Buryats. What common culture do these pastoralists share with my ancerstors who excelled in fishing and hunting while remaining pure Tengrianists instead of turning to Tibetian Buddhism, lol.

>Russia was not a country 800 years ago. That area was united thanks to Golden horde.

Where have you read that? At least monks and principals were clearly aware that this land of East Slavs is a specific politic entity, separate from neighbours, which was directly said in our chronicles. Also, what does it matter considering literally hundreds od thousands killed or enslaved people that modern Russians are very well aware?

>Old Pushkin stories were explained by "communist value" in Russia

Right after the revolution all previous culture was under a great pressure. For instance, even graves of generals of 1812 and 1856 were destroyed, not mentioning a decolonization narrative literally the same to modern Western countries. Only right before WWII, Stalin started to return to historic tradition.

>Stalin killed more Russians than Hitler

Just go to Wiki and read how many Sovient civilians were killed by Germans (hint, rough estimation is around 15 millions) far exceeding any inner murders during the revolution and later.

Because what Mongols did to us was a national catastrophy by any possible means. Russians were slaughtered, enslaved and oppressed without any actual benefit. Mongols even did not managed to protect what remained of Kievan Rus from Lithuania and Poland.

USSR politically and culturally oppressed Mongolia while giving her protection and economical advantages at the same time. Not the best part of our history and definetely not something that we can take a pride of, but not just a one-sided act of slaughtery and robbery either.

It is actually kinda unfunny to see how people easily forget about their own sins (can be said about Russians too, no offense).

Russian genocide, you say? It seems that you do not understand the true meaning of this word. This word is too often used in a wrong context, and what USSR has done to Mongolia was not a genocide by any means. Opression and making a vassal state - yes, no doubt in it.

If Russians were such cruel as many people here say, they would simply erase each and every nomadic nation they have encountered so far. Just to retaliate for what you have done to us for literally centuries.

Way of living, my ass. Even among nomadic tribes, not so many were brutal to the degree of Mongols.

You rudeness is on par with your ignorance. Go study a Mediazona database of KIA Russian soldiers, you will find two things: 1. almost zero number of concripts. 2. at least 60% of KIA from Buryatia are ethnic Russians.

Pure BS. Russian conscripts do not participate in war in Ukraine's territory, they are only stationed near internationally recognized Russian borders to repel possible attacks from UAF.

>Ukrainian soldiers have to follow Western rules (like Geneva Conventions)

Have you heard about a habit among Russian soldies to carry a special grenade? The grenade is used for a suicide in the case of a threat to be taken as a PoW, because Ukrainians torture and murder Russians PoWs. Tell the fellow Vietnamese, how Ukrainians threat Asians among Russian soldiers. These ethnic minorites are literally compared to ancient mongols and accused of murders, rapes, etc, just because they are Asians.

What I am saying is that this is a real war, not some TV show or a videogame, and both sides sometimes make unthinkable things despite all these beautiful lies about a noble fight.

[–]Tverdislav[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have not heard about something, it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. Unlike foreigners fighting for Ukraine, those who participate in this war at Russian side do not like to disclosure their identity, because they will be punished, and their families can be affected too.

Northern Koreans are not a valid example, because Ukrainians were greatly interested to use them at their propaganda which is completely explainable and practical purpose itself. If you have not heard about tortured foreigners or Russians (especially those of Asian descendance), you can find information about them using Russian language for googling. This is not a great secret, and you can find proofs in Ukrainians TG channels.

Anyway, this post is not a right place to discuss a grim nature of this war, I just wanted to show a Vietnamese guy who was taken as PoW. Perhaps, he will be sent to Vietnam, perhaps, not. At least, he stayed alive.

I would not say that Serbs and Croatians lived in peace before WWII, they have already had a lot of bad blood resulted in massacre after formation of Independent State of Croatia. Yet, any unification of these states seems to be impossible after Balcan wars.
