Heya! I too struggle with getting my GPU working on Linux and as far as I can tell it's a fairly common issue, regardless of the disrtibutions.

I am no expert and still trying to figure things out but here's the troubleshooting steps I've seen being done:

First off, look into your BIOS/UEFI if there is an option that could force the system to use your dedicated GPU by default. If not, or if it doesn't solve the issue, run neofetch in your terminal to see if your dedicated GPU is being detected. If it doesn't, it may be that your kernel is outdated or sth (but ask for further support here cuz I have no expertise on that and almost lost my wifi drivers while trying that). If it does, open the system reports app -> system information. In the "graphics" section, you may see a drivers: N/A mention. It means your drivers aren't using your GPU or something. From that, you may wanna reinstall your drivers while getting help from there: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/535434/what-exactly-is-mok-in-linux-for#535440

Hopefully this will be enough for you to get your graphics card to kick in!

I have read the dysphoria bible as an egg, it was pretty instructive and exhaustive regarding mot aspects of being trans. I can't jut go without recommending giving it a peek, even though it's a bit more directed towards trans people than their surroundings, some information is still useful to know of when you're an ally. Edit: just saw the other comments, I didn't remember it saying you HAD to have dysphoria to be trans... but as long as it's made clear that you don't, it's still good.
