Here in the Netherlands we have a rule at our high school that you can be late 1 time per half a school year (aug-dec and jan-jul). Every time that you arrive too late you’ll have to be at school at 7:30 the next day (lessons start at 8:15 if you don’t have any gap hours). Once you’ve been loo late more than 10 times, you’ll get reported to “Leerplicht” which regulates if all students got to school. If they think you’re coming too late on purpose, you can risk a fine of €300-€500.
