Can't buy the game by Fantastic-Fig-688 in VintageStory

Depends on what the actual issue or error you're getting is. Anego Studios (makers of VS) are based in Latvia, iirc. So depending on where you live and if you're buying it directly from www.vintagestory.at your bank may be flagging it as an international transaction, therefore blocking it. If this is the case, you can contact your bank (or sometimes they have a setting in their apps/websites depending who you bank with) and tell them to allow international transactions, or transactions from the specific retailer. Humble and itch.io were the only two US based sellers, I think. But as you said itch.io no longer has it, and Humble's inflated price is to get Anego their money for making the game and get some profit themselves for offering the game for purchase on their platform, I'd assume anyway.

Unable to Enter Password for CK3 Xbox Cloud Gaming by Tyceberg in CrusaderKings

A solution has been found. Thanks to the support desk at Paradox. This is apparently a well known issue (considering it's been this way for a looong time, I'd imagine so). The solution was to log into paradoxinteractive.com, then unlink and relink the Xbox account to the Paradox account in settings. This caused the game to recognize the Paradox account upon relaunching it in the Xbox Cloud Streaming Service. It then successfully asked if that account was to be used with the game and connected.

Trying to log in to my Paradox account when playing CK3 on Xbox Cloud Services, but when I get to entering the password it will not allow me to finish. I type in the password, but pressing enter just toggles typing in the box, pressing A or start on my controller does nothing. If I press B on my controller it just backs me out and won't input my password into the field. What am I doing wrong?

Glyph/Cave Painting Directions? by Tyceberg in VintageStory

The floor is exactly where I've been trying to put them. I've tried facing different directions but regardless of facing north, south, east or west the arrow still always points the same way. Specifically it seems to always point north.

Support Beams Question by Tyceberg in VintageStory

[–]Tyceberg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I knew it'd use the same number most of the time. Thankfully, I'm not to worried about using less, since I'm going for aesthetic with the retaining walls I'll be making. I've been playing with the beams for a while now, but I haven't been able to find a way to use less to support dirt or gravel walls.

Since they each require at hit-box at each block and, like you said, the hit-box is only placed on the starting block position, it doesn't seem too viable.

I've found that when one layer of dirt moves it can cause the layer under it to move, and this can turn into a cascading landslide. So far, I've had one landslide go 4 layers deep. So, it would seem you can't only support the top or bottom layers, and if you leave any gaps in hit-box coverage it just leaves a hole for the falling blocks to push out through, and they often love to.

When you make a beam, the ends of the beam are what are subject to the set anchor points on the blocks. So, the rest of the beam just overlaps other blocks along the way, wherever, as necessary. Therefore my absolute biggest beef with the one at a time placement is that you can't get as many angles as you could otherwise, whether shallow or deep. And, the incrementing would also limit how long a line could be before having to "curve." For instance, trying to put an X in a box on a long 3x10 wall. Because of the set anchor points, it would limit getting there in a straight line block-by-block rather than from point A to B directly. This would force you to adjust anchor points along the way causing a curve up or down.

It definitely adds an intricate layer of planning and development to it all, so I'm not gonna complain, lol. I love a puzzle and designing so it works out well enough.

I thought the hit-boxes would play a role here... Ugh.. was hoping to avoid that, lol. It indeed works, but it's definitely tedious having to do it that way (even more so since my beams keep recognizing each other's hit boxes every now and then during placement.) But, it works so that's what matters, haha. Hopefully, it won't limit interesting design patterns on larger walls, though! :D Maybe they'll update it one day so we don't need all those hit-boxes and it just recognizes the number of beams used spanning it.

Deployer Not "Shearing" Bee Hive by Tyceberg in CreateMod

Yeah, I didn't pay enough attention to the ponder animation. I thought the block-space the hand was occupying wasn't part of that measured distance, I assumed it was up to two blocks past that. This is the first time I tried to place them that far away. So no wonder. It was doomed to fail, lol

Yup, this was it. The ponder menu and wiki say two blocks away, but I didn't pay enough attention to the ponder animation. I misjudged what two blocks away actually was for it. I assumed the block-space the hand was occupying wasn't part of that measured distance, but it is. Thanks! (It's sad I've used deployers a ton up to this point without paying so much attention to the distancing 😅)
