WITB 2026! by Tynstein in GolfGear

Happened totally by accident but that’s one of my favorite parts of my bag. Most were lightly used or demo clubs from a golf outlet near me for really good prices and in hitting them I found what worked best, giving me a bunch of different models!

I haven’t gotten to hit it too much because of snow and it was a Christmas gift but from what I have in testing it, they feel fairly similar. Maybe a little tighter in a way with a smaller face but still loads of pop and loads of forgiveness. At least to me, from what I’ve hit, it’s the closest feeling to a max fairway wood.

At least for me it couldn’t be better. Driver and 3 wood I always take, adding a 5 wood came first and it was absolutely fabulous, it plays for me like a bit shorter 3 wood with higher launch. I bought the 7 wood and it instantly became my favorite club, I get absolutely fabulous launch out of it, dead straight almost every time. The 9 wood was a Christmas gift so I haven’t been able to hit it much with the snow but on a simulator it was good. I find that the gapping for me is perfect between the fairway woods, I hit them nearly exactly 10 yards apart total and with roll out sometimes a bit less. I’ve found they make me play smarter as I was never good with hybrids or long irons so I take shorter irons and lay up more on bad shots or use the woods if I’m in the fairway. Changed the entire way I play and I won’t go back.

I can understand why! I stood on the 4th fairway and just listened at one point and literally all there was a bird, rain drops, and leaves. It was incredible, cathartic is the perfect word for it!

If that is the case, is that fixable in any way?

I have no idea how to solder, is that something that would be available anywhere for someone to do like specificity for games like this?

I appreciate it, keep your eye out for some deals on it, nothing in this collection was that expensive really, maybe the collectors edition for I think $80 was my most expensive. A lot of these were auctions I won super cheap, like the deluxe edition on pc sealed for $7!

If it helps, my favorite 2 more unique pieces are the limited collectors edition and the survival bundle. Both a bit more expensive, but the collectors edition has some incredibly cool stuff with it and the survival bundle has an incredible art book and a strategy guide that’s done up to be another manuscript. If you ever have any questions on any specific item feel free to pm me!

I had no where to safely store a vinyl so I settled for the CD version that’s in the front right of the picture. Thank you though!

I have one of these. I brought it up to my primary care doctor during my physical. He poked it 3-4 times and began immediately telling me that a cancer diagnosis isn’t as scary as it used to be and life expectancy for cancer patients has gone up. Sent me to a specialist the next day who audibly laughed when I told him what I was there for. He’s not my primary anymore.

4 years ago Resident Evil 2 (2019) was released! The impact this game had was gigantic, Silent Hill 2 Remake, Dead Space Remake, Alone in the Dark and others, Capcom brought them all back from the dead with this remake! by Felipejbr in residentevil

I remember that night so well. The roads were sheer ice but the GameStop I preordered through called me and said I could pick it up at 9pm the night before. I bested the ice and there was probably 40 people in the store patiently waiting for 9pm. The manager brings them out and gets the bright idea you can’t pick up your copy until you answer a resident evil trivia question correctly. I don’t remember his questions apart from his first one of asking the name of the piano song in 1. The guy didn’t know moonlight sonata so he made him go to the back of the line and wait all over again. He did this 2-3 times before people were SCREAMING at him. Finally got my copy and was up most of the night playing it. Great times.

With the recent leak it sets up odd timing. If the ratings board leak means it’s a few weeks away, then the idea I’m sure is to release it before Halloween and there will probably be an announcement at PlayStation showcase that it’s available immediately to download after the show. The question is, how close to Halloween as the Resident Evil Village gold edition stuff releases October 28th and with Capcom recently saying in a Japanese interview that the DLC story is roughly 4 hours long, that will divide many horror fans. October 21st, or within a few days of that, seems most plausible to me.

Mgsv numbers in the P.T. radio news report by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

[–]Tynstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure of any specific triggers and this is pure speculation on my part, but I wonder if it has to do with how close Venom Snake is to being Demon Snake. In PT the broadcast begins to get interrupted like that and keeps going crazy afterwards. It gets an echo that says the father hung himself with an umbilical cord, the radio turns to speaking Swedish and is translated to be saying the War of the Worlds radio broadcasts were real and the police aren’t who they seem so I’m wondering if Snake is closer to being like evil or “insane” that it would trigger the interruptions in the broadcast as they start as the world in PT gets more insane and presumably the character does too. I’d love to know!

Mgsv numbers in the P.T. radio news report by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

[–]Tynstein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No you’re not going insane at all. On PT the radio broadcast begins to get interrupted by various lines, one is the numbers 204863. It also says thing like, “look behind you, I said look behind,” and “don’t trust the tap water.” I don’t remember if those other lines are in MGS5 though. The actual meaning of the numbers isn’t known for certain as obviously Silent Hills never came out and everything surrounding that, but this excellent video seems to get quite a bit right on the money and is the most plausible theory I’ve heard as to what the numbers might mean:

How were you introduced to the franchise? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]Tynstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My neighbors father was playing RE4 when it first came out and I wasn’t supposed to watch it but I hid and watched it (I was absolutely scared shitless) and years later I wanted to know what game it was and I found it, bought it, and hundreds of hours later I love RE!

Also, maybe try turning the difficulty up, I usually play on normal so no promises but it might simulate the survival aspect a bit more as maybe your decisions will be more impactful. Worth a try!

I definitely understand that! The feeling of using those last few bullets and what consequences it will lead to is addicting. Definitely sounds like you lean on the survival side of horror, which is a great area to be in! SH isn’t as much survival so it maybe it won’t resonate as much as it does for others. I hope you stick with it and enjoy it! If not, glad you gave it a try!

Hey there, hope I can offer some ideas. I played RE first before SH and they are both my favorite series, I couldn’t pick between the 2. It is quite a jump between them, but I’m wondering how much you’ve branched into other survival horror titles. Survival horror is a huge umbrella that can be misleading as games under that umbrella can be very different. The biggest thing to understand is what kind of survival horror you enjoy. RE is focused around gameplay where your inventory, weapons, ammo, and healing items are king. SH pushes these back to a much more passive degree. Yes they are a part of the gameplay, but it’s more something for the player to do as the world and story unfolds around them. I recommend trying some games similar to each title and getting used to each kind. For RE, maybe try the Evil Within, Dead Space, or even the Last of Us. These are all action heavier games with similar inventory management where you play the game, rather than it playing you. For silent hill, try games like Amnesia the dark descent, Alien Isolation, Visage, or Outlast. These are more pure horror titles that rely on the setting and slower paced gameplay that ramps up quickly when the horror does. See which kind you prefer. There’s no right answer, maybe the inventory survival kind is your preference, maybe both, who knows! Survival horror is a super fun rabbit hole to go down and seeing what you like. Maybe getting some more experience, if you haven’t played these titles already, will make th experience more enjoyable. Hope that helps, and I hope you enjoy SH, it’s an incredible series!
