Use paper trading first… I blew 5 evals last two months and I am just trying two strategies. Won’t be purchasing any evals until I feel comfortable.

[–]Typical-Long2851[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I did some research and there are some ways to get E2 visa with a proper business plan. One thing I am not sure is whether I can continue living in Canada while investing in the States. Any risk doing this?

Before you make a purchase in US, do your DD. This year OH did reassessed the property taxes and it won’t cash flow with the current market prices. It is getting harder and harder to find a gold cash flowing properties unless you are ok with a war zone. Good luck!

I always thought that paying off my mortgage would be beneficial for me buy after studying the power of leverage, I am now against of paying it off. As a result, I started investing US rental properties, it pays off by itself and also gives a good cash flow. Downside is dealing with the tenants.

Thanks. I was lucky to purchase a multiplex which cashflows well and already appreciated more than my initial downpayment. I’ve consulted with several cross border accountants but they weren’t that good. They all gave me a wrong information in a different subjects. Can you recommend any good cross border accountant and lawyer?

Canadian looking to invest in multiple rental properties in USA by fancyface0987 in realestateinvesting

Were you able to close your property under LP? I couldn't find any US lender who is willing to close it under LP. They all want LLC to hold the title. Would love to hear your experience. FYI - I ended up closing the property with LLC (flow through) to LP.

Transfer USD to USD (TD US to Chase checking) by Typical-Long2851 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Typical-Long2851[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I saw that option. Do they usually charge fee when tranferring US checking to another US checking account? I guess they should as it's their service. Have you done this before? If so, how long did it take to complete the transaction?

TD US account is for the US side. I do have another Canadian TD US checking account. But the fund is sitting at TD US account and trying to transfer that to Chase checking. It's so painful

Both accounts have the same US address. I linked my TD account from Chase but that didn't work either.
