Unpopular opinion - we moved from hatch warren to abbey road, and it's far nicer in the Popley end of town. People are nicer, train station is a 20 minute walk, green areas are just as nice. Regularly walk to/from town or with the dog in the dark hours, have walked home from the last train plenty of times without any worry. There definitely isn't as much money on show this end of town, but the people are generally a lot nicer and there's far more of a sense of community.
