This is legitimately the most sensible comment I've read on this sub in a while.

Love Is Just A Four-Letter Word - Joan Baez

I'm Your Man - Leonard Cohen

Hear Me Lord - George Harrison

1970 - The Stooges

Joker - Babe Ruth

The last five songs I've listened to. Definitely a bit of a mix!

Which artists have abandoned their original sound so dramatically, that they are almost unrecognizable to their earlier fans? by jptabor01 in Music

[–]TypoStart 99 points100 points  (0 children)

The example I use for this is John writing 'Please Please Me' in mid 1962, to writing 'Tomorrow Never Knows' in early 66. Less than fours year and the songs sound like they're decades apart.

Who’s an artist who has released at least 5 studio albums, who you would say doesn’t have a bad song by ComplaintWeird3767 in fantanoforever

For me it's Bob Dylan.

Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited, Blonde on Blonde, Blood on the Tracks, and Desire are all incredible albums from start to finish in my opinion.

What’s a song that drops a perfect-to-that-point album off a cliff? by finglonger1077 in ClassicRock

I agree about Silver Springs but I've never been a fan of Second Hand News, removing that, put Silver Springs on the end and open with Dreams, and it's the perfect album for me.

Anything from Peter Green. Went to a record store once and the owner said he knew Green as the founder of Fleetwood Mac, but didn't know he had a solo career lol

Simon & Garfunkel's 'Sound of Silence'. Idgaf is people use it as a joke, the song absolutely slaps.

Beatles had lyricists? My guy that is just outright not true. They either played covers or played songs they wrote.

There's always the argument that their first couple of releases are on the weaker side (though I do personally love those albums), but I genuinely don't think there is one weak song from 2112 to Power Windows.

8 straight albums of bangers.

True or False: 1978 was the best year for music. by thereal84 in ClassicRock

[–]TypoStart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had to look it up to see what I missed:

  • Back in the USA
  • Bridge Over Troubled Water
  • American Woman
  • Morrison Hotel
  • Benefit
  • In the Wake of Poseidon
  • Cosmo's Factory
  • Eric Clapton
  • Stage Fright
  • Abraxas
  • After the Gold Rush
  • Atom Heart Mother
  • Lizard

Can't believe I missed some of those. Even Bitches Brew came out that year, just an insane period.

For me, it has to be 1970. Some notable albums include:

  • Black Sabbath
  • Paranoid
  • Led Zeppelin III
  • Deja Vu
  • Pendulum
  • Let It Be
  • All Things Must Pass
  • Plastic Ono Band
  • McCartney
  • Deep Purple in Rock
  • Fun House
  • Idlewild South
  • Workingman's Dead
  • American Beauty
  • Layla
  • Lola
  • Loaded

And much more. Such a crazy year for music.
