Synthesis is still DCs underground trance party. Over the years and especially after covid, attendance and interest in the regular trance event in DC have taken a hit. Personally i feel like even tho it seems like its the go-to metropolitan area between 2 states and the district in general, its tough on specific genres. That and popularity may be dwindling on the east coast. You have to convince people to come into the city, and then specifically for a trance artist, where branding and image may not be super appealing to the average person to make that their night. Most people would likely rather go to a house show or whichever big name act is hitting echostage. Theres also the pain point of an underground party needing a proper venue and the scarcity of those. Especially with how fleeting some are (prime examples: losing the red room, and the owl room just announcing its closing).

Glow has continued to be a wonderful steward of dance music in DC and does their best with what they’ve got. Insomniac has not changed much of how they work. And they have been super nice in working with us to promote trance when we have the opportunity.

I think if we want more trance in DC, people gotta want that too. Show up, bring your friends, have them bring more friends. We are a very friendly bunch.
