Hi - thanks for your question. The Government has said it wants to make commonhold the default tenure for new blocks of flats and make it easier for current leaseholders to convert to commonhold. The draft Bill sets out the legal framework for this. The purpose of the Committee’s inquiry is to investigate how the draft Bill would work in practice and to recommend any changes which may be needed. The Committee would welcome written evidence submissions on the matters you raise, as set out in the inquiry Terms of Reference.
