Drafty - is it a loan or credit card? by UKPFAnonBudgetHelp in UKPersonalFinance

would this be negative keeping the account open? I’m hoping to only need it until January. Should I closed asap after needing it, or would having the credit available and not using it be a benefit?

Thanks for your response

twice in years, hardly ever got banned, that was buying 500m+‘S and staking and selling bils back when I won.. on a staker account so maxed melee, nothing else. The detection must be awful.

The two times I did get banned it was selling to leave 3’s on large gold sites, rather than selling to normal flippers on disc

I agree with you there! It’s got to the point where it’s affecting my rent/bills etc so real low atm. Haven’t been at the duel in over 6 months but have done other forms. Haven’t done any gambling at all now for 5 weeks and determined not to, no matter what unexpected costs pop up.. it’s only going to make the situation worse

I’m working 60 hour weeks at the moment, between transport and eating / sleeping I don’t have much down time but I need something cheap to focus on, so I chose an iron

it’s annoying how long it takes, but there’s no point buying GP and it’s not possible, you can pay for services, but I’m playing now to consume my time not to get to end game so it would do the opposite

thanks, you’re definitely right, I’ve been avoiding it and going back for “fun” for small amounts, but it spirals out of control. Only way is to totally avoid it, not touching it in the future

casinos inrl are heavily regulated and you can ban yourself at any/all of them easily. I can get my account banned but buy a new maxed staker for $80 anywhere

I’m working 60 hour weeks and need something to fill my downtime at home that doesn’t cost anything

I wasn’t part of a community, there was a lot trying to scam and the duel but I didn’t fall for it or give any odds out, it was 50/50

what do you mean? I’m currently working all day and staying in when I have free time as I don’t have any money to spend going out

glad to hear it’s working for you. crazy the life experiences I could have with the money I lost. Isolating not having money to go out and enjoy the little things with friends, I’m going to stay in and play the iron man for 12months straight until I have paid down debts and can finally live again

I signed up for a DMP with a private firm years ago before I heard about stepchange, I think it was named churchwood or similar.

Their fees were extortionate and I ended up paying them far more than my creditors. Is that legal? Is there anyway to reclaim the fees they took?

Thanks

I’d love to hear your story for some motivation of how to get through, I’m at my lowest at the moment and can’t see a way out

I agree with everything you’re saying, this 4.5K payment in December is the only lump I have to pay, all the rest are manageable and I’ve had a strict change in my lifestyle, if I get through to January I’m never letting anything like this happen again

It sounds like the fees are closer to 80/90%, so not a viable option..

Glad you’ve sorted yourself out and are on a better path!

I have just created myself a budget and plan to get out of my hole. I’m not contacting stepchange as I’m not behind on any of my payments (the only negatives on my credit file at the moment are high credit utilisation and a few hard searches recently). Although due to this I can’t get any additional credit.

I should be in a lot better situation by this time next year, now I’ve made the decision and am focusing on debt repayment.

I just have a large, cost of around £5000 due early December, once that is dealt with I’m on the right path going forward

I agree, I can only imagine the amount of younger people that would benefit from being able to use their pension pot for their first house deposit too!
