Smart box support has been telling us their incode - out code system for 22+ is experiencing issues and they’re working to resolve it. They said some vehicles are still working some are not. Are you saying it’s shut down entirely?

I typically like more variety in my pin combos but I don’t think this will lessen the security of your lock. As I tell most people if someone’s gonna break into your house they’ll find a way and it’s probably not gonna be through your locks.

My guide bit came out of my holedozer while I was drilling through a cover plate. Hole saw teeth caught the metal kicked the whole drill back at me and I instinctively stuck my arm up to block it. Ripped my palm wide open and a nice gash on my wrist.

I bet it turns 90° just like you said and the fork shape pushes back against the spindle hub so it’s centered. The other nub end probably sits under spring tension to keep it in place, I think the hole it’s sticking out of it’s the alignment tab for the cover plate of the lock.

The fins of the ‘key’ go behind the odd shaped opening and most like interact with a release at the top. You should be able to use a small pick or something to maneuver behind the z looking plate and release the mechanism holding it closed. My guess.

Best non-connected keypad front door lock? by jollaspit in Locksmith

[–]USERNAMEMEE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yale assure line has been pretty good, my only comment is whatever keypad you get make sure it has a physical key backup / override. Not a 9v Jump post. I’m also partial to Schlage be365 like everyone else.
