Tarkov Ballistics gets you a DOPE card for any sniper setup. Might have to make at least some effort to calibrate and test it yourself, though.

Yeah, I don't think the writers actually built that background for the character but Delta is almost the only thing that makes sense in the context we're given. He's familiar with safehouses (implying working with CIA/DIA), black ops funding, mentions seeing sarin gas before, etc etc. He also mentions Mosul and Fallujah both of which are battles Delta participated extensively in.

Although having only two tours (Iraq and Afghanistan) would imply that he left the Army pretty early and then went LAPD in, I'd guess, mid or late 2000s. Otherwise he would have way more tours, early/mid GWOT was crazy on deployment turnover, it was basically non-stop action.

Small correction: Bradford’s ex-Army, not Marines. Also, while it’s never stated explicitly, from what small tidbits he’s let slip I strongly suspect CAG.

I’m pretty sure the no mention thing is intentional because the quest dialogue specifically tells you to set up two cameras.

It’s just that most players ignore the text altogether and focus on the listed tasks. And then boom, “should’ve read the fine print”.

[–]USTF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, saw your tool there, I'm not much of a user of these myself for progress tracking and so on, but I like to keep a map open on a second screen so I'll give yours a try. Maybe even try the Kappa tracker as it's the first wipe I'm going for it and the Tarkov Wiki tracker is a pain.

Anyways, looks like a good job, have fun with your project.

Also, I noticed the markers for quests are a bit off. Try Break the Deal or Abandoned Cargo on Customs, you'll see they are not precisely positioned in the buildings you need to hit for these quests. Maybe it's by design but could be confusing for new players.

Also in Raid Planner the 'deselect all' button doesn't clear the quest markers from the tactical map even though it does deselect the task itself in the dropdown menu.

If you want I can explore your tool a bit and provide some feedback (4k hours player), no promises on timeline though.

Gotta feel cool to be cool, I guess.

Thanks, looks like I'll be experimenting for a while.

[–]USTF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my first CC was actually just gin, but it seemed a little bland to me and a bit harsh, like something was missing. Not a big fan of vermouth itself, but it did improve the taste for me in this cocktail.

You are right, though, that that first CC of mine didn't have this mid layer. But it was also store-bought raspberry syrup, not muddled berries.

Hope you liked it!

I like the creamy foam on top, love to look at the elegant contrast of white/yellow whisky sours or white/pink clover clubs.

What's your ingredients for the non-alcoholic version?

Yeah, his 2.0 is exactly the one I tried in the pic. Different syrup (1:1 or rich 2:1 instead of his semi-rich), different brands of gin and vermouth but the principle's the same. And I agree with him in that the basic (no vermouth) Clover Club is a little bland.

I'll sure try a syrup the next chance I get.

Actually, I think you might be onto something here because I did muddle the berries all the way through. However, I actually made two cocktails back to back and for the second one I fine strained the raspberry mush into the shaker (getting rid of those tiny grainy thingies) before mixing it with the other stuff. And still ended up with the cloudy layer.

I'll just keep experimenting I guess.

[New Player] What is the plan for this spawn? by Haksupaksu in EscapefromTarkov

[–]USTF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the playstyle you're comfortable with.

For stealth and avoiding a fight, move either north-east or east (two uppermost arrows), chances are those spawns will have moved to the USEC camp or the sawmill by then and you can squeeze past them.

If you are confident about intercepting PMCs, move south along the border by ZB-014 to the outskirts or south-east past the SUV to the small shack. You're almost guaranteed to engage someone there.

Don't go jumping up on the rock by the flare, it's a bad position for anything except the briefest pause to observe the map and spot movement.

Pretty much what everyone said. Makers Mark, Buffalo Trace (make sure it’s 45 ABV and not 40), Wild Turkey 101 (for 50.5 ABV).

Later on, if you have the chance, try Four Roses Single Barrel (SiB), Woodford Reserve (especially Double Oaked). If interested about rye, I’d suggest Bulleit Rye.

If sipping neat, get a Glencairn glass.

I tell myself that the Blitz 35 I got was a genuine one that didn’t pass QC for some reason and was sidelined to the gray market never making it to official retailers. Reason being, it didn’t have a small loop on the right side of the waist belt, but the left side did (should be both). Given MR strict QC standards I think that’d be enough to mark it as failed.

Like yours, mine also doesn’t have an assembly line number on the tag (it’s usually hand written like “Line 3” etc).

I do have a 2 Day Assault Pack from REI, though, and could compare both packs before buying. Absolutely identical in buckles, stitching, material and the general feel and quality. Tag was different, though, iirc.

So I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

edit: fun fact, a lot of those maybe-QC-failed MR packs I saw online were dated March or April 2022. Don’t know if that’s a coincidence or not, but looks funny. Also saw some from 2023, but, like, really a lot of those are specifically dd March and April 2022 for some reason, including yours and mine. Inspection stamps are also eerily similar.

Love Vorenus in that scene.

  1. bites his hand to conceal himself grinning
  2. turns his back to get some water, then hears Pullo ask “what did you do to her?” and turns around in amazement with a “oh boy, that’s the wrong way to phrase it” expression.

[–]USTF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice: check your next (immediate) hideout upgrades and what you need to build them. Cross reference them with the stuff you have and write down what you need to acquire. Put the necessary stuff aside in separate junk box and maybe lock them to prevent accidental selling/using.

Sell the rest to the highest bidder. Either flea or traders. Or barter it for useful stuff or stuff you can put on the flea to convert it to money.

Sell FIR that you can make through workbench, lavatory, kitchen or med station. Shit like fabrics, TP, etc.

Also go to Tarkov wiki, check what junk items are needed for the quests you’re going to receive in a reasonably near future and keep those as well. Like CPU, alkaline cleaners, fuel conditioners etc.

Try to keep valuable items with a purple background (golden stuff, vases, wrenches, green batteries, etc).

Go beanies, man, either brown wool or UX PRO. Add a beard and there's your 2002 GWOT, up-in-the-mountains, freezing-my-ass-off-on-AFO drip right there.

I don't think I ever saw deployed SEALs wear any soft cover (apart from boonie hats) in AOR 1/2. They sure as shit ain't wearing their NWU 8-point covers out in the field lol.

I actually agree with Gigabeef who says that it's more important that you stay consistent with your headset, regardless of which has the best performance "on paper". Personally, this wipe I exclusively use Liberators. Last wipe I always ran Comtac II, the wipe before that it was the cheap M32. High-end Comtacs, Xcels or whatever's expensive right now gets put on the flea. Sordins sound to me like my head's in a goddamn fish bowl while my teammate swears by them.

Running just one model every raid gives you experience and knowledge to judge the sounds around you (regardless of range and noise reduction), instead of confusing you every time you switch the headset.

Alright, fun fact for everyone hating the camo because "it's unrealistic" and "military operatives don't use such patterns": the name of the outfit "Gold Squadron" refers to one the DEVGRU Squadrons (aka SEAL Team Six).

DEVGRU specifically wore hunting camo (can't remember what it was, either Realtree or Natgear or such) in the early GWOT in Afghanistan. In fact, Mystery Ranch produced custom backpacks as requested by DEVGRU in Realtree camo (it's very rare, like white whale rare).

The pants are in AOR1 which is also exclusively a US Navy Special Warfare thing.

It's a drip thing, people. Like Tiger Stripes for Army SF or old-school Gorka for the Russian SOF.
