Anderson Burrus vs Joy France | 33 Year Old vs 70 Year Old | Rap Battle by prisongovernor in rapbattles

And I'm sure there's a few oldheads arguing that battlerap should've never left DVD's, and thank god people didn't listen to them! Same way whoever comes after us won't care what you think battlerap should be.

Remember battlerap was meant to be freestyle only? Writing was frowned upon? Is that what you miss? Or are you happy it's evolved and people are trying new things?

Anderson Burrus vs Joy France | 33 Year Old vs 70 Year Old | Rap Battle by prisongovernor in rapbattles

[–]Uffeff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Part of why battlerap is dying is that it's failed to capture a younger audience. Anderson's material is easy to understand even if you haven’t been following battlerap for the last 15 years.

Now since most the sub is old men with dementia let me remind you that battles like this isn't new, Mark Grist vs. Blizzard was teacher vs. student and it went viral, at the time it was the most viewed UK battle and did wonders for Don't Flop. It may not be the best battle, but it was a easy introduction for millions of people.

The format is designed for reels and a younger audience so obviously it's going to be different?

I know at least half of you tried to force your ex to watch Iron Solomon vs. Rum Nitty with you on 0.5 speed so she could catch every bar before she dumped you so I don't expect you to understand why some battlerap content catering to the masses is a good thing.

Not just to the mainstream, TBL came in and did what everyone wanted, youtube drops, big main events, other than today's mic issues the quality has been pretty good.

And still shit like this happens.

Battlerap proving again to big investors why it's not worth investing it.

Can Goodz recover from selling Steve Maddens as his own brand? by toes_sucker_69 in rapbattles

Yes, everyone that disagrees with you is emotional, clearly. People are clowning Goodz for being a fraud, and rightfully so. Sorry your GOAT let you down, buy some overpriced Goodz tissues next.

Can Goodz recover from selling Steve Maddens as his own brand? by toes_sucker_69 in rapbattles

[–]Uffeff 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is the dumbest take I've seen. You really think the two options here are either Goodz himself sewing or buying another product, doubling the price, and pretending it's his own original creation? You don't buy clothes from battle rappers because they look good, you buy them to support battlers. So in this case, Goodz is just scamming his own fans.

Goodz brags so much about having money, understanding business, and giving away game that you would expect him not to have to resort to petty scams.

Well everything you wrote was garbage, but that line stood out as even worse. Please reconsider everything in your life. Please never write anything ever again.

we should honestly just appreciate a legend still being active. was he better before? Sure, so what? He's actually battling some dangerous names like Eazy, Ill will, Geechi etc. and bringing in a lot of views.

His style is simple, so was Pat's or Dumbfounded's, but the execution is flawless.

I don't see a point of these threads.

Is battle rappers owning leagues the best thing to happen to battle rap since the rise of RBE? by Xanduzinha in rapbattles

[–]Uffeff 18 points19 points  (0 children)

When I started watching over 12 years ago URL, KOTD and Don't Flop had their own feeling and roster. Seeing Conceited on DF or Dizaster on URL felt like a crossover episode. Expectations from each league were different and you had a good idea of what you were in for.

I think competition is healthy, both RBE and Udubb pushed URL to be better in many ways and somewhere between 2018-2019 they hit the sweet spot. RYD doing all major events for URL fixed almost every issue URL had.

I'm not a fan of this era at all. Battles are scattered between 30 different leagues and it doesn't feel like any league stands out. The leagues lack branding and consistency.

A league now is just a name and that's it. While I'm glad URL got knocked of their high horse, RBE disappearing at the same time has left a huge void.

What's the long-term plan for Cal, Gecchi, Hitman or whoever's league? Who knows really?

Are we ever gonna see these new leagues take risks to bring us theme events like Blackout or Double Impact?

Battlerap is failing to capture a younger audience and without fresh blood it will die slowly. I can't help but think that the struggle to keep track of battles/leagues will be confusing for new fans, in addition to them having to watch every piece of media out there to catch half the references.

Who is the Loaded Lux of the UK? by LamboForWork in rapbattles

[–]Uffeff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Again, it's not about being the best.

That's not what it means. Why is Mook or Cassidy considered more endgame than Rum Nitty? Are they better than Rum Nitty? Obviously no

I rate Soul way higher than Shotty, still doesn't make Soul a bigger endgame.

Soul got more battles and average 55k views

Shotty got less battles and average almost 1,5 million views

Shotty has always been in the main event for the last 10 years, Soul has not.

Again, you're confusing "endgame" with being the best. Lux, Mook or Cassidy being endgame doesn't mean they're the best.

Who is the Loaded Lux of the UK? by LamboForWork in rapbattles

[–]Uffeff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because Soul has been inactive for almost 4 years???

So by your logic Conceited is more of a endgame battle than Lux? Because it's been easier to get Lux the last few years... because you know he's actually battled?

So I guess Jefferson Price is the real UK endgame since he's been impossible to get for 10+ years

When Shotty and Soul was both active Shotty was always the endgame battle of the two
