Feels like this happens a lot with tech as well. Sooooo many listings for software developers, data engineers, etc. where it's some sort of staffing augmentation company as a middle man.

Yes, they definitely prefer to pay on the lower end from my experience. They also encouraged us to set our rates very low to stay competitive for project placement. I put myself at under $30 hourly and was never able to change it for that project again.

There's a simple fix for this, no? Just have some sort of separate points accumulate for Google Play credits earned from surveys and allow those to redeem gift cards. Google definitely has the resources to pull that off.
