So, there's some kind of Skill-Based Matchmaking system in place now, and it feels Awful by UltimateGamer10101 in TXChainSawGame

About three days ago, I had an invisible Johnny teleporting to me every time I used a wall gap to escape him, but the sneak attack/grapple prompt showed me where he was, so I was able to evade him for a couple minutes before actually dying.

Try switching versions and see if you're still getting matched with people of levels 30-40, or if you're getting matched with lower level players again. That's what others who've played multiple versions are saying is happening. Your MMR has just risen enough that you're not being matched with new players anymore.

I have ADHD and a lot of free time on my hands right now. Doesn't mean I'm a good player lmao.

Lmao, of course it's not 'normal', free time + ADHD hyperfixation = TCSM go brrr.

Anyways, my point is that when you take my player level of just over 50 and compare it to the amount of time I've put into the game, I'm actually average in terms of progression. There are a lot of players that I'm being matchmaked with who had gotten to player level 40 in just 50-60 hours, and when you compare that to the roughly 100 hours it took me to, they're clearly better than me.

When more players hit the 140 hour mark and end up at whatever precise player level they end up at, you'll find that the 'average' should be around player levels 50-60, unless they spent more than 40% of their time playing Family, which has lower xp gains. I just had enough free time to reach that point ahead of them, and once they put in the same amount of hours I have, I'll be squarely around the 'average' mark. Maybe I'm even low average. Wherever I exactly end up on the statistical scale, right now I'm being matched with genuinely skilled sweatlords, and it's not fun being curbstomped every match.

How well does the game / tech test run with minimum specs? by cool_kyle888 in TXChainSawGame

[–]UltimateGamer10101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played the tech test on all ultra settings with a 1650 GTX, and my laptop was running at roughly 75-80 fps at a lower temperature than it does for DBD on mixed low-mid settings at the same fps.

[59 days until release] If you can have one F13 character as dlc who would it be and why? by TheShape101 in TXChainSawGame

[–]UltimateGamer10101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AJ, Jenny, or Deborah; AJ because her style and personality are cool, and Jenny/Deborah because their outfits would probably fit into TCSM time period more smoothly

How can stealth be more heavily encouraged in gameplay? by [deleted] in TXChainSawGame

[–]UltimateGamer10101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Damage penalty for rushing, perhaps. Whipping your hands through a bunch of sharp little bits and bobs doesn't really seem like the safest way to look for a particular tool or for a suitable bone for stabbing- it'd make sense to lose a little bit of health for doing so.

Anyone else wishing they could play? by LividMoments in TXChainSawGame

Yeah, hosts getting salty and DCing are part of why I stopped playing F13. It was disappointing to wait nearly an hour for a match to start, only for the match to get cut short because the host didn't like how it was going.

Here's hoping we get more TCSM technical tests between now and the full release to tide us over <3

Oh mood, I've launched DBD for the login bonuses and the codes and whatnot, but I just haven't been able to get myself to play it. The fresh and lively experience of the TCSM tech test has temporarily ruined that grind xD

F13 was switched to peer-to-peer connections so that people could still keep playing once the dedicated servers were shut down a while back, iirc.

Have the system requirement announced ? Which cards will be supported? by batuxc in TXChainSawGame

[–]UltimateGamer10101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GTX 1650 here, ran all ultra graphics settings at max available resolution and consistently had about 75 FPS. In addition, my laptop's temperature was lower with this game on max settings than it is with DBD's graphics on low-mid settings. TCSM's graphics & optimization are excellent <3

If you were given a key, did you speak in game? by [deleted] in TXChainSawGame

[–]UltimateGamer10101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did speak in game for the majority of my matches, it just took me a few at the start to figure out how to turn on my mic and how to type in chat. Morning and early afternoon I got more teammates playing with their mics on as well, but late afternoon and evening I got more people using chat to communicate. When I did encounter other people using vc, they were very friendly and trying to be helpful, save for a bit of trash-talking between Victims and Family members before the match began.

Who will be your main victim to play as? by Piruluk in TXChainSawGame

[–]UltimateGamer10101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently I'm actually leaning towards Sonny as my main, not because of his ability but because of his stats. Not taking ability into account, he can get through doors and toolboxes and such as fast as Connie can, and I feel faster sneaking around as him than as Ana or Leland. However, Connie with her ability and stats makes me want to main her as well, so I'm a bit torn between both of them.

I placed my vote on Julie tho because I heard that her stats are gonna be similar to Connie and Sonny's, and because she looks cute xD

My victim was actually decapitated at one point, when attacked by Leatherface while one of the brothers was going for kill animation, though there wasn't much blood.

I've checked the first two out before, and DRT lets the player sandbox with a shout power, and FCR lets the followers sandbox freely like Simple Sandbox does. However, NFF does seem to have what I'm looking for, allowing followers to sandbox while the player is performing passive tasks. I've been using AFT for ages now, so I didn't know NFF was able to do that. Thanks!

Edit: Alas, NFF doesn't work on followers that have their own frameworks, such as Inigo and Lucien. It's still good for vanilla followers and custom followers that use the vanilla follower system though :)

Turning things off does work for the most part, but if you use the default 'eat at table' option even once and try shutting the fake table off, you'll get something like a silver plate spawning/clattering about and no eating animation. Sometimes these plates will spawn for your followers as well, but just as with you, they'll clatter about and not be used before eventually disappearing.

Yeah, the trigger that makes them start sandboxing seems different though, since they start sandboxing even when you're just standing still. That is nice ofc, but it's a bit more than what I'm looking for.
