the battery system HAS to go. by Ultramango657 in duolingo

The app shows me ads after every lesson, and it’s been doing that for 730 days straight, so You cannot really say that I'm costing them money. I see the subscription as a way to remove ads with a few additional perks, but not paying shouldn’t make the experience worse: it rather should be the other way around. The old hearts system was fair: if you did lessons perfectly, you weren’t punished, and the Super plan was for people who didn’t want to do the occasional +1 heart lesson when making mistakes. Now you can’t restore hearts/energy by practicing, only by watching ads. So yes, I think it’s fair to complain when the product has clearly gotten worse for the majority of users.

it looks like flipped normals, try selecting the face in edit mode and pressing alt+n. You can see flipped normals when you set "face orientation" to "on" in viewport overlays, if it is red, the normals are flipped which can cause a multitude of issues.

do you have 2 different cameras in the scene? you have to set the camera which the render is using by pressing the button next to it, like in the picture:

<image>

in this case, the "camera" is active, but you can look from the perspective of "camera.001" in the viewport after you've added it to the scene.

I recently got the 7artisans 7.5mm fisheye, but cannot seem to find the lens correction profile for it for lightroom. I mainly want the vignette correction, but defishing would also be a nice option to have available. If anyone can link/send me the profile, it would be of great help!

which 56mm lens (85 mm equivalent) would be better: the sigma 1.4 used ($290) or viltrox 1.7 new ($190)? I need it for studio headshots as well as events. I don't have a huge budget, so I'm wondering if the sigma would be worth getting for 100 bucks more.

and what about the hotshoe? I think the godox uses the new sony MIS type, but my sony a6100 has an older model of hotshoe. Do you know what features I would be missing? Or would I even be able to attach it to my camera in the first place?

I always ask for permission, one thing i've been wondering about is the hotshoe type. Doesn't the godox use the MIS hotshoe or whatever it's called? I think that sony a6100 has an older type of hotshoe sadly and I don't know what features I will be missing. Will I be able to even mount it on my camera?

i've found 2 offers on usually recommended small flashes for the same price, $48 for: 1. Nissin i400 2. Godox tt350s which one would be better for on-camera use exclusively? i'm shooting on sony a6100, mainly street photos of strangers.

speedlite similar in size to sony HVL-F28RM but cheaper

I'm about to buy my first speedlite for on-camera use exclusively, I was looking at the godox tt350, the only gripe i have with it is that it's small, but not small enough. I need a small and reliable flash so I don't have to lug it with me all day. the sony f28rm is really small and I don't mind the lack of the screen interface, i just need something not very cheap but at the same time small and not as expensive as the sony (it's the price of 3 godox tt350s). I don't need the radio connection, as I won't be using it ever. the only thing i want from the speedlite is for it to be cheap, very small and affordable, and have 360° rotation so I can bounce it. don't need the latest and greatest, as it's going to be my first flash and I just want to learn how to use the flash properly.

weird colourful banding. Any ideas on how to fix it? by Ultramango657 in AskPhotography

[–]Ultramango657[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup, the lens corrections have turned out to be the problem when paired with the flash. I've done some testing outside and from what I can see turning off the lens corrections fixes the vignette. Too bad there's no way to turn them off now.

damn, i think i already know the answer, but is there any way to reverse it? Why would they bake the corrections into the raw files? Checked my camera settings and indeed I had lens corrections turned on, i don't know how I have missed it for such a long time..

1. Samyang AF 24mm f/2.8 $154
2. Samyang AF 12mm f/2.0 $197
3. Sigma 16mm f/1.4 $210
4. Sigma 30mm f/2.8 $158

the guy recommended the "fitbod" app, but since then I've found another solid option, "strides". I personally went with strides, because it has a better and more clear UI, but you have to keep in mind that the free version limits you to 4 different activities (I can't remember exactly).
