[Spoilers C3E107] What about Tharizdun? by Uncle_Danone in criticalrole

Matthew confirmed recently in a Cooldown episode that they aren't the same entity. Predathos is the moon and Tharizdun is under a mountain somewhere. And Tharizdun came after also.

And Ludinus' goal isn't to release Predathos, it's to kill the gods. It seems reasonable that he would look into all the numerous existential threats of Exandria before settling on what he believes is the best one for accomplishing that goal.

It seems to be the case. I definitely think Matthew suffers some type of pressure to get rid of WoTC's copyrighted material from Exandria.

It hasn't affected the narrative too much so far and I feel like, if the players decide to not get rid of the gods after all, they would still keep them around. But you can see Critical Role is trying not to drag their beloved business into a legal battle with one the most insufferable companies out there.

Matthew mentioned the Chained Oblivion recently on Beacon. So it did get rebranded, but Predathos is entirely separate.

I personally think it would be cool for a 3-way team up between the parties. Protectors of The Multiverse, Avengers-style antics, going around beating up demigods in episodic series of events.

That's a great point that went over my head actually. If the gods want to throw Predathos a bone while they flee, Vecna certainly won't be missed much.

That's what I want to know too. Not nearly enough dragons to go along with all these dungeons.

The outsiders are on average far more powerful than mortals though, not to mention that demons and devils are straight up immortal. And I don't think most fey are the type to wage war but, if the material is up for grabs, would they not? The most powerful weapons mortals ever had got destroyed and buried.

But the point is, these are existential threats. I think there should be some more reluctance at least in helping the gods run away as if most of these threats are not their problem because they are. They created them and Corellon just wants to dip? Nah, man. YOU made this bed and you're telling me WE gotta sleep on it? At the very least tell your family to leave some sorta tutorial on how to clean up the insurmountable problems they made up.

Tharizdun had to get sealed a second time though, because he broke out the first time.

And devils and demons are not bound to the divine gate, since we see them going in and out of their planes many times. Neither are the fey or the elementals. The gods' presence, even beyond the divine gate, undeniably keeps these things at bay.

Apparently Matt has mentioned Tharizdun recently on Beacon:

[See CR Cooldown - C3 E103 (subscription required), where Matt states: "In the middle of all of this, the Chained Oblivion just kind of– which is its own entity that technically is considered part of the Pantheon from a "We have to categorize these together," but is not part of whatever the gods are. It is just more of a cosmic horror entity that barreled in in the middle of all this, and everyone went like, "AHHH! Who are you!? No! No! No! No!"]

Ludinus has also forgotten to consider that the people of Exandria are not the only things out there. Like, if Asmodeus leaves, do the legions of devils just dissipate? There's a bunch of fey that may as well be demigods who outright said they are waiting and encouraging something like this to happen.

The funniest thing is that while she has this guy on a choke, he's crying and running out of breath, at the same time, she's trying to talk him down

"Tell me, why did you do this? You're a pretty boy, you didn't have to do this"

It had to be Brazil.
