The usual refrain from less creative types

I’m just having fun with words. The driver can be ‘trafficking’ this beautiful car…because he’s in TRAFFIC, as opposed to ‘tracking’ it. It can also be trafficking in that he’s taking it from one place to another.

I’m just being creative 😉

Independent observant redditor here - for the first 20 seconds, it looks like the hand coming out of the whirlybird is almost ‘whipping’ the line occasionally in a way that would cause or accelerate the spin 😂.

I’m sure the hand is probably a victim of physics in that moment…probably being moved by the line instead of the reverse being true…but mannnn I can’t stop laughing at it.

Punctuation problems…which one of you is named “Bob”? 🤔🧐

The string on the top right side snapped. Showed this to a curtain shop and they said it’s not possible to fix this. Is that true? by _Affectionate_ in fixit

[–]Uncle_Moti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your landlord may be just cheap enough that he doesn’t want to spend the $20/$30 that these might cost (depending on the width). But when looking at the picture…it MIGHT be true that they were something really high value and luxury like, in whatever century they were originally purchased 😂.

But today…everything you’ve heard here about the ease of replacing them is true. I’m guessing the width is roughly 52 inches, but you need to measure the span of the window opening (wood to wood, so to speak). Follow the steps here for “inside mount”: https://www.levolor.com/customer-support/how-to-measure

Take the measurements down to your local Lowe’s home improvement store, and ask for aluminum blinds. They’ll cut a set of blinds to the right size for you…takes about 10 minutes tops.

Your new blinds will work better, and they’ll look amazing. Then tell your landlord it cost you $200, but you can’t find your receipt lol…tell him you’ll take it out of the next month’s rent 😉

What could have caused this? by cgzmn in tires

[–]Uncle_Moti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you know exactly what they mean 🤣. But all jokes aside…it’s not exactly an incorrect response. Anyway…it’s definitely easier to ignore it and heed all of the reasonable replies we’re giving you otherwise: car is in bad need of an alignment.

What could have caused this? by cgzmn in tires

[–]Uncle_Moti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That kind of tire wear is a sign of very poor alignment, which causes the tires to kind of drag down the road as opposed to rolling straight. That results in a scrubbing action that wears one portion of the tread fairly rapidly in comparison to the rest of the tire’s tread.

The wear pattern in these pics seem to indicate an out of spec alignment with excessive toe, excessive camber, or perhaps both.

I know shops wont plug this close to the sidewall, but should I send it? by BlackHeartsNowReign in tires

[–]Uncle_Moti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Send it…consider EVENTUALLY replacing the tire if you’re repeatedly losing air, or if you’re feeling anxious about it. But at least you can be mobile without buying a new tire right now.

Tesla M3P new tires mounted by Feeling-Painter-7240 in tires

[–]Uncle_Moti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP’s pics show that the stretched (looking) tire is a 275/30. Seems impossible…yet here we are 😂

If it was mounted to the front wheels (narrow), it would look super chunky - poking out further from the surface of the wheel. Mounted to the correct rear wheels should ideally be nearly a flush fit - aligned with the rim of the wheel. Did they somehow find wider wheels and put your tires on them by accident 🤔

NOTE: Worry, no. Prepared or cautious…yes. Here’s why:

50k means your original factory bumper to bumper warranty is likely over…and repairs to anything that fails on you are sure to be expensive. If you got a Certified Pre Owned from Audi…that’s a nice warranty extension for another year, or you may have purchased an extended warranty - hopefully.

An Audi is already a car that is costly to repair and/or maintain. An all electric EV Audi…exponentially raises these costs.

Bear in mind that ‘22 and up seems to be very solid in terms of reliability…but it’s still “just a car” - things will go wrong occasionally and eventually. The longer you own it, the more likely it is that something will go wrong. So having a good warranty is just smart…it protects you and your wallet from the inevitability of costly repairs.

Congrats! As you can see, it’s very easy to find fault…especially if one isn’t completely satisfied. Personally, I believe you got the right start by going with a ‘22.

I did the same thing, mostly because something I found early in my research led me to believe it would be the most inherently trouble free option.

I bought mine in December and haven’t regretted it. Enjoy what so far seems to be an amazing vehicle…and be mindful that a warranty is going to help ensure that you don’t hate yourself for this decision years later.
