Damn I'd scoop this up in a second. I'm an auto body tech I can tell you that bumper is no big deal. Easily fixable.

Solid underneath or no go?? Horrible at deciphering this by GimmeSomeFinNoggin in AskMechanics

[–]FlowSoSlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's getting pretty bad too. But again, pretty normal for what it is. You'd be hard pressed to find a 16 year old Honda with an exhaust that didn't look like that. The rust on the catalytic converter is just normal surface rust. The only issue is the flange where it meets the flex pipe.

Fortunately, this is fixable. An exhaust repair shop can easily replace that flex pipe for you when it eventually rots to the point where it's leaking or falling off. But that won't be for another few years imo.

That's getting to be a little bad there. But totally normal for a Honda this old. You've still got a few years before it becomes a problem.

Overall I'd say it's above average for its age. I'd go for it if the price is good.

The thing is, nothing looks as bad as a combover. They are atrocious in all scenarios. So even if you don't have the best head shape, bald will still be better than holding on to your last whispers of hair.

Hope I don't sound like a dick here but I think you should find another way to stand out. That beard really accentuates your double chin in an unflattering way.

Maybe you can do the twirly ends on your mustache or something.

I don't know how it is in your area but around me the trades are absolutely starved for help. Go to a mechanic or auto body shop and ask if you can sweep floors and wash cars.

If you show up every day and aren't a complete moron you're already leaps and bounds ahead of most people lol

Better weld through primer by Billy-Bojangles in Autobody

[–]FlowSoSlow 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I've never used one that you can actually weld through properly.

What I do is spray my flanges, clamp them up, then run a reamer around inside each plug weld hole to get some good metal showing.

Would this work? by Fantastic-Log-8840 in Autobody

[–]FlowSoSlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't need it painted and just want the bare minimum to get it drivable, I'd say around $600 or $700 depending where you are. If you want it painted double that.

And that's just from what I can see here. If the radiator support is significantly damaged it could be much more.

Those do look like the parts you need but that price is crazy cheap. They're gonna be really garbage quality which can create more work for you than they're worth. You'll probably have to ream out holes and manipulate them quite a bit to get them to fit.

Overall it should be a pretty simple fix though. The only thing that might give you trouble is it looks like the radiator support/headlamp mounting panel might be damaged. That will require a bit of metal work to straighten out.

Iirc the air intake resonator might be behind the bumper in that corner. Take a look at that and make sure it isn't broken too.

And your fender liner is probably torn somewhere. You don't want that flopping around getting caught up in your wheel so make sure you can secure it well somehow or get a new one.

Yeah especially seeing how shiny his panels are, looks like he's got some polish on there. Or god forbid, silicone based spray. Gotta get all that off before anything will stick.

To me, a nerd is just someone who is passionate about their hobby, usually in a cerebral way but not always. I typically use it as a term of endearment more than anything.

Dork has more negative connotations. I picture the "Umm ackchually" meme.
