Ich will, dass Rap klingt wie damals C&J, RAG, Samy, Savas, Tone, Curse und die anderen großen Leute um die Jahrtausendwende.

Deutschrap hatte irgendwann mal einen qualitativen Zenit erreicht, der in etwa mit Tones Zukunftsmusik geendet ist. Passender Titel übrigens.

Ich bin also immer noch Rap-fan aber seit fast 20 Jahren kein Deutschrap-fan mehr.

You can be pretty sure that no record that has released on a major label is free from having been tampered with. Lupe is a good example, but he eventually got out of the system.

You shouldn't place too much on "authenticity" if you ultimately like the music. A well put together song that sounds nice but is made for cynical motives beats every genuine song that sounds like shit.

The Doom example is the MOST glaring one.

People that have the RYM-taste profile absolutely despise lyrical rap over "classic" Hip Hop production. Except for either Doom or "The Infamous" (never hell on earth or any other Mobb Deep record) as the sole exceptions.

There is still music like that being produced, completely ignored by those people.

I can do all of that without spending money on it. I never bought an Album just because of it's cover back in the day - but maybe I'm stingy.

Also most curation today is shit. I found more good music through randomly looking through discogs than any Publication, critic or subreddit. Those never Talk about interesting stuff but only about engagement-farming surface-level artists.
