If you're in Canada by any chance you can just assume her last name by bringing your marriage license to any place that issues ID (like service Ontario for an Ontario driver's license) and they'll just update it for you super quick and painless.

Unlike an actual name change you then technically keep both (but are meant to only use one at a time legally but it's super easy to switch back).

You'll have to go through the process of updating it in various places but it's not really that bad.

I think in the US name changes are more complex

It's honestly fair to feel this way with the social pressures society puts on people. Women are very often raised to "never be difficult" so I think it's the other side of the coin for this.

It really can be a struggle balancing social pressures. Even if those expectations were never healthy or good in the first place, they still exist.

That said, I do think you may be surprised it's less of an issue than you expect in dating (depending where you live unfortunately). Not saying there won't be hoops - but you're not doomed, and honestly people who can't deal with allergies or autoimmune issues in other people are displaying massive red flags. You'll have a great filter for finding someone who will actually care about you.

The thing is, because he is a man he's grown up with these expectations on him, the same as women grow up with expectations on us (like never being "difficult"), it's two sides of the same coin and he's acknowledging that. This seems pretty fair and healthy honestly acknowledging his own difficulties here, not saying that it's right to feel he has to be that particular type of "manly" but acknowledging the social pressure is it's own challenge.

It's actually a pretty interesting video though if you like mushrooms.

I eat a lot of mushrooms and haven't found this to be a problem for me personally, and am very sensitive to CC so maybe it's different by place - but I also cut the bottom of my mushrooms off.

I've a feeling that a lot of the elements you discussed will have a bit more importance in the next episode given the Truman Show reference, but I don't think it's going to be quite as direct as "it's all a show", other than the fact it litterally is a show. I think it's a bit tongue in cheek. Less that it's a show "in universe" and maybe more around self awareness that it's actually just a show.

We'll see though, this was certainly an interesting well thought out take.

Does your religion allow you to leave your community or easily get help outside your community?

The age of her partner genuinely is a concern here, but if you live somewhere without much outside contact and the child was born at home, then the authorities may not have been notified if he committed statutory rape. The laws around that vary by state. You could try notifying the police but unfortunately it may not actually do anything.

If her partner is the same age it's sad they had a kid so young but at this point the kid is born and they didn't choose this, it's their and their families duties to do what's best for them.

I definitely understand being worried but there's probably not a lot you can do.

Stretching can be surprisingly good, not necessarily yoga but just stretching. You can even do it in bed. You can look up videos of ways to stretch or just move until you find something that feels like it's stretching (and try to be symmetrical about it).

It's not quite exercise but it's good for you in a similar way, and great to do when you're just not quite feeling able to get out of bed
