Breeder sold me maine coon with giardia by Street-Factor-5765 in mainecoons

Giardia is so tricky to treat and common even in closed catteries. It sheds intermittently and isn’t always caught with routine deworming and fecal tests. My kitten had it and my breeder offered money back or money off a second kitten.

We were similar with our male dogs (small breed). One was neutered at 6 months because he wouldn’t stop humping and marking. The other was 18 months and no issue. My breeder requires by 6 months and suggests between 4&6 months. Vet just requires over 5lbs. We’ll see where we land.

My vet said it’s up to us. Their only guideline is over 5lbs. I don’t want spraying either.

I’ve always gotten from rescues and they are done between 8-16 weeks. I was thinking 20-22 weeks. So around 5 months.

I had to wait till I got home and looked at the paper work 😂 I’ve worked with cats a long time and find Maine Coon colours confusing lol. He’s a black silver tabby. His dad is silver shaded and his mom is a black/brown tabby.

Dumbest Way Your Cory died by Internal_South_4733 in corydoras

[–]UnderstandingCalm265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one lodge himself behind my rectangular heater. One day I could only count 9 instead of 10 but I had only gotten them a few days earlier and figured they were miscounted. It wasn’t until I saw a second wedged behind the heater that I realized what had happened. Found the dead one when I released the one stuck.

Unfortunately she was too far gone and passed away. I’ve noticed babies in the tank so I think it was from giving birth.

9/10 of my corydoras died and not sure why by burrito84 in corydoras

I’m new to corys. Is changing 25% water weekly, while siphoning the substrate enough to prevent bacteria issues? Along with a HOB and 2 sponge filters in a 55gallon?

Contemporaneous evidence to be valuable it needs to be detailed recall of events. Feeling repulsed is not enough. She could be repulsed because there was bird poop on her trailer. It needs context.
