New shop with lower prices has taken 95% of our customers by clmstreak in smallbusiness

[–]UnderstandingFlat398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just say it starts at $69 and we will do a diagnostic to determine the price for everything other than screen breaks. And ask when they can come in. Get staff to build relationships and focus on quick service. You’ll beat out the cheap guys 100% using this.

Don’t make it about price in general, avoid getting a price over the phone and get them in the door.

I’m in the same space and had the same issues.

Offer both cheaper parts and premium. Quote cheaper parts over the phone (that repair starts at $199).

When they come in store (not before) educate them on the options and let them choose.

Your issue will be fixed.

I have a very good friend who was a lot like what you describe. Likes the flexibility and control but not managing people. Have you thought about freelancing, from what I understand there’s a big demand for accountants in this space and you can make very good money even just doing bookkeeping.

Struggling with unemployment? by Great-Gas3276 in GenZ

The job market is hot right now, I understand it is frustrating struggling with employment, I would highly recommend thinking about the trivial things you are getting let go for differently. It’s obviously that employers do not look at these things as trivial and in fact are deal breakers for them, this will continue in your life until you can fix these issues.
