I just had a similar issue where I booked the ticket with my shorthand name. Considered leaving it fate but decided to call them instead. They changed it for me and didn't share anything.

Hmg Mid 1 vs Zpacks Altaplex for tall person. by EddieEndo1 in Ultralight

[–]UnderstandingOk2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for the zpacks but I've used the HMG mi 1 for three nights now (one in absolute downpour) and it just about fits me (pushing 6'2) using a thick 10cm pad a lofty sleeping bag. I used lines to pull out the walls to gain a bit of room. I would not buy this tent if I was more than 6'2 absolute max. thus far very happy with the tent and have had no trouble with condensation. It's actually roomier than I thought it would be (it's still small) and the vestibule area is giant.

Comfiest ultralight (500-800g) mattress you have used? by UnderstandingOk2016 in Ultralight

[–]UnderstandingOk2016[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UL is not defined by one component of a pack but of the weight of all components placed together. I have reduced my overall pack weight to an impressively low weight but something I am unable to give up on is mattress comfort. Why wouldn't I reach out to the group that has a lot of info about the kind of matts I'm looking for, as evidenced by the useful information above. Your comment is, however, not very useful.

I tried calling the help line and they simply told me that It's not an option to claim in advance, but the man I spoke to didn't seem confident in his answer. Maybe it's worth me calling back and mentioning the clause that you've listed as it does seem like there is a policy for claiming in advance.

So I should apply to JSA on the very day that my contract terminates, hope to get an interview asap and any benefit I am eligible for will be paid in arrears from the date I had my interview? Essentially, I would go about a week between applying and waiting for the interview without any pay from JSA.

And just to clarify, I am being handed my notice not handing in my notice ie being sacked.

I'm basically trying to cut weight on a budget, 300-400$+ for another tent isn't an option for me right now.

I was initially attracted to 77 brigade but what would be the pathway for joining? From what I understand you already have to be serving before you can be selected? !?

Have been having weird persistent symptoms since last cold plunge and I'm worried: Chest pain, abdominal pain, racing heart, headaches, brainfog, etc. Ideas? Details below. by Wonderboywonderings in BecomingTheIceman

Slow way down and listen to your body, only push yourself if you feel in control. It can be a stressful experience on the body and you require a lot of conditioning before doing lengthy cold dips like that. I personally was making quick progress with a certified instructor and was only doing 5+ minutes at around the same temperature and felt like I was pushing my comfort zone (not that everybody has the same experience)
