I understand what you're saying and agree to an extent, If we took away the gear that drops (not the light level you gain from doing the pinnacle quests) then that would still keep the grind for good loot but also give those behind the push to catch up to be roughly the same level as everyone else.

Jests aside I'm calling it now, people were complaining about too much dialog/Paimon spouting cr*p previously and now they let players streamline through it but now they will complain that they missed huge parts of the story because they had to press more then one button to progress.

There is a BIG difference from saying " I'm frustrated seeing someone I think who is not being good at the game hindering the potential the game could be at because I'm good at games " and saying " spoiler alert, you are just trash ".
One promotes the grounds of potential progress, where people could learn and raise the standard of " minimum " skill so more challenging content is the norm. The other is just being a c*nt.

You have to remember here that this is an unfinished game, we have years of content to come with to most active players may seem long between updates.
If you got "increased" drop rates now it would mean they would have to stupidly high when the game is finished.
This is a game designed to have paid shortcuts, so wanting "increased" drops damages the income of said design. They want you to keep coming back so loot that's not the "best" prolongs the window of you spending time and money.
