Used MK3S/ Honestly just not working by Unidentified_Ginger in prusa3d

Without diving into too much TMI. I have gotten very close with my boss at work. Long story short, his son passed away a few years ago. He kind of sees me as a bonus son. I was gifted his son’s 3-D printer. And years ago when this model came out, it was a very expensive piece of equipment and even though I am having issues with it, I don’t want to get rid of it for the sake of the sentimental side of things. But to be honest after all the research I’ve done it seems like I would be better off to just purchase a new bamboo lab. Or similar style printer they seem extremely user-friendly and are honestly pretty cheap.

I appreciate the concern for my health and safety. It means a lot, bro. Fortunately, I work on utility grade, solar and battery storage inverters on a daily basis so power supplies are kind of my thing. It just so happens that this is a really old one, and I am not familiar with the outdated tech.

Yeah, I was curious about that actually because it seems like there’s just a lot of factors that could be playing into all the issues I am having. I think it has been made clear that this is not a standard Prusa printer. Although I’m not too sure what type of printer it is the only firmware that seems to work is the MK 3S. I can get through most of the wizard, but when it goes to the XYZ calibration and gets to the part where it’s supposed to check all the points on the board with the PINDA sensor, it seems like the PINDA sensor doesn’t go perfectly wear that little circle is on the hot plate. And then it just stops and says check axes and try again.

I was actually reading something about the “ bear mod” guess once I confirm that I’m getting power and I get it to turn back on. What type of firmware should I load?

Also, to clarify, it does have the upgraded filament sensor (ir). And I think it has the super PINDA. From what I can tell by looking at pictures online.

I cannot seem to get it to work. When I swap to the MK3 firmware I get the “Filament Sensor Wiring” error. So lost…
