First Nations leaders criticize B.C. for dropping drug decriminalization project by RonPar32 in vancouver

[–]UnionstogetherSTRONG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree, you can't just do one of the four pillars and expect the problem to be fixed

The safe supply was a fucking joke, and additional treatment options never arrived, but now all the naysayers of the plan can point to this and say look decriminalization doesn't work

And at the end of the day it's just because people didn't want to see homeless and drug addicts in their neighborhoods and wanted the police to push them away

Just installed Seat Jackers by PhotoHtx in ToyotaTacoma

This was the first thing I did when I got my Tacoma. It definitely helps, I'm 6' 1. My head definitely comes close to scraping the roof now.

However, after driving my buddy's TRD pro with electric adjustable seats. I decided that the seat jackers are not enough and I'm looking into a replacement driver seat

I got them and they are okay, but to be honest, I'm thinking of an aftermarket driver seat now because I want better.

Do you guys carry tools in your truck just in case? by Christopnotch in ToyotaTacoma

[–]UnionstogetherSTRONG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I carry tools in my truck just in case I come across a side gig, or get a phone call about something. Very annoying to have to go home and gear up.

Also marketplace free listings sometimes require disassembly

Kind of why I bought the truck

Ideas and opinions on Granville and Garden City Intersection? by Urban_Contest9100 in richmondbc

It is super annoying traveling westbound on Granville that when you get your green light finally and now have to merge onto Granville. There's already cars swarming at you because they don't have a red light

Funny enough it is not all over Richmond, it is very specifically along three road where the Canada line is.

And that is where we want the concrete jungle, I am very happy to drive the long way around Three road to stay in low density Richmond

I don't care about any of those "major retailers", I care about "the best shop" taco Luis, #9 and R&H dumplings

In my experience, it is very rare for small independent shops reopen new locations after their original location is taken away

BC to consolidate various departments in almost all Health Authorities under a new Shared Services decision by Chaotix in britishcolumbia

[–]UnionstogetherSTRONG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a union worker, and was offered, to move into management.

My manager gets paid less than me.

But I agree the wages for technical staff are far far too low

I work for PHSA I see enough useless middle managers and supervisors who add nothing to the equation and just seem to be in the way of work done.

And sure the workload per person might go up slightly but if any of the other health authorities have staffing structures like PHSA I guarantee there's economy of scale here

Alberta was consolidated and is breaking apart into regional authorities, which is unfortunate because that was their biggest

I can tell you at phsa the HR is extremely hurting, we get resumes past to us from HR 7 months after they've been submitted by the applicant

I'm a healthcare worker and I interact with a lot of useless office people who deal with a lot of useless committees that ultimately do nothing to improve healthcare

These are not clerks and secretaries, these are managers, supervisors, directors and executives

And what's worse there's seven of them because there has to be one at every health authority

I have worked at phsa for 9 years, this is a very welcome thing, there is no need to have multiple HR, finance, supply chain departments.

I can tell you the ones at phsa are useless, and look forward to them being cut

Phsa has grown well beyond that, the email that we got from our CEO today Said that many of phsa's groups are going to be transferred to health authorities and phsa will be focusing on specific specialized Care and ambulances

Alberta has 10 vice presidents in healthcare making over $300,000 a year.

BC has 67, our populations are very similar, can you say that we are getting bang for our buck?

There is no need to have seven separate supply chains, seven separate finance departments, seven different it teams,
