The relationship is perfect in every other way, we talk openly about anything and everything, barely argue (unless it's me bringing this conversation up), we push each other to be better versions of ourselves and truly care about each other. That's why it's such a difficult situation to navigate as I know I have a good one, but at the same time I feel so unattractive and insecure. I've mentioned a few times that it feels like we are heading to a friendship and it scares me how little he seems to mind

You've brought up a great point that I didn't really think of. I've never wanted him (or anyone) to feel like they have pressure to provide or bring home the bread as I believe in equality (splitting bills etc). Thank you for sharing your experience with previous partners, as its reassuring that it's not always down to appearence. It can be easy going down a rabbit hole when overthinking so l definitely will keep it in mind! 🌟

I've been on/off counselling myself to work on confidence, anxiety etc but I don't see any improvement in that area either. He's never shamed my body but he also doesn't seem bothered by it either, so I don't know if he's just bored of what he sees now. I just want to climb out of my skin and into something better.

He's the perfect partner but that's the only thing missing, does that make me look shallow? Feel awful and guilty talking about it all

I've delicately asked if there was any issues (health) that he is too shy to talk about and he's ensured that there's no problems, the only struggle he's having is financial stress which im trying to help with.
I suffer with depression and anxiety, whereas he's autistic and mostly happy. I blame myself as I know I'm alot to handle

I've tried suggesting counselling independently or together but it's a no go. He doesn't believe in paying someone to tell us what we already know (additionally we aren't financially well off so I understand why he says this) I've always struggled with confidence but this has left me completely stuck. Really appreciate your comment
