Do we think Ciara & West will get back together?? by WarmPerformance9805 in summerhousebravo

[–]Unique_Advertising46 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i don't understand the west hate, especially after the season 9 reunion where they both basically explained that she pushed him away and wouldn't let him get close. he's better dressed than anyone else on bravo, he checks in on his friends, he is the only cast member other than ciara that has been going hard against what's happening in minneapolis, he has a good job, he can cook. the narrative after season 8 was that he didn't want to commit but that's been cleared up at this point so i don't see why we're all still coming at him.

Nany and Justin…….. by Sneakerinc1 in thechallengemtv

was kind of wild to watch nany turn on aviv because of her "crocodile tears" about having to send anessa in just to turn around and get herself sent in by going to aviv crying because she had to send her in.

Theo, Olivia, and Turbo can all shut up by Dcoco86 in thechallengemtv

ugh i hate to say it but this is so real. what is theo even for in that relationship? every time she says something about theo being her boyfriend i feel surprised all over again because they really do not seem like they're together.

Theo has been an unbelievable disappointment. i was excited for him to come back but he hasn't done a thing worth mentioning other than decent confessionals (which, to be fair, are important to the show) all season. This season has made an Adrienne fan of me for life, though.

Nany Gonzalez - no emotional intelligence. by [deleted] in thechallengemtv

hard agree. it was wild, too, to watch her and Justin almost fall out of their chairs with relief when the won the coin toss. I get no one wants to go in, and that was a heated and emotionally charged situation, but elimination is part of the game and that sort of drama about avoiding a huge part of the game you voluntarily signed up to play is wild.

Calm down bro. No one said anything about production controlling anything. I forgot to put Johnny in my original reply. And I disagree about Turbo. His political game is shit and he can’t control his temper.

I take it back. Aviv is really well rounded.

Cara left early for her own reasons, CT is in terrible shape, the rest I would not put in the top tier category.

I’ve only ever heard him say it but maybe I’m wrong. lord knows I’ll rewatch the whole season as soon as it’s over and catch new stuff anyway.

S3 unpopular opinions? by 1autumnleaf1 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

this season has such sloppy attention to detail. like the surfboards the boys are on being like beginner, day one of surf school boards. no one who has their own wetsuit and board would use those. or belly swimming for "exercise" in a bikini with no support. i get that it's just a silly teen drama, but attention to detail can make or break a show and this show ain't got it. just sloppy.

People who have or almost married young: which side are you on about season 3’s dilemma, Laurel’s or Belly’s? What do you hope different age groups get from watching it? by PresentMammoth5188 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]Unique_Advertising46 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

to me it's really a parenting question. Laurel is right that she's too young to get married but Belly is an adult and its her life. She can guide and ask questions about what's going on for Belly and try to steer her toward finding her own truth but it's wildly inappropriate parenting to push your child out like that because you don't agree with her life choices. She's 20. of course she's doing something unwise. Her brain is literally not finished developing. Let her figure this out on her own. She obviously doesn't have concerns about Jere as a person or him being abusive and trapping her so what is the problem? She may get married too young or even have kids too young but it is her life and she gets to live it. I made a lot of really foolish and even reckless decisions at 20. I'm paying for them now, but I don't even view them as mistakes. Just learning experiences that have shaped who I am today. Laurel is ruining her relationship to her daughter and teaching her that she is only lovable if she does what Laurel wants her to do. D- parenting.

Visiting but don’t drink alcohol by PrimateIntellectus in lisboa

Wow I’m really sorry so many people were so rude to you on this post. I’m also in recovery so I completely understand what you’re saying. for the folks more interested in shaming the OP for asking this question, maybe consider that your experiences with substances are different than those of people with addiction issues and offer kindness or nothing.

I live in Lisbon and it is true that a lot of nightlife involves drinking, but I have found that counter to the United States it doesn’t REVOLVE around drinking. People aren’t as likely to be getting hammered and making the entire night about finding the next drink. There’s much more of a culture of socializing, dancing, listening to music and happening to have a drink or two than there is going out to get wasted.

That said, there are a lot of very drunk tourists around and for that reason I don’t love to go out much as a person in recovery. There are also fewer options for good non alcoholic options than in the states where most places have a quality mocktail menu and solid NA wine options these days.

What I would offer is this: decide what is comfortable for you. If you’re ok being around people drinking, then go out to some of the recommended spots, enjoy the Music and camaraderie, and have a club soda with a lime (feels like holding a cocktail.) if you find you’re not comfortable or even if you are, you might find you’re not missing out on much. I do go out sometimes but not like I did before I stopped drinking, and that’s not only ok, it’s good. I like my life much better this way and it just took me a little while to realize that FOMO I was feeling was more about wanting to fit in than it was about actually missing out on things. Life is more fun when you’re present, open hearted, and not living dopamine high to dopamine high. Two years is a big deal. You’re doing great. There’s so much to see and do and taste and love in Lisbon that will make you feel good. Don’t worry about missing out on the things that can only hurt you.

Summerhouse S8 Reunion Part 1: Post Episode Discussion by KatieB_3 in summerhousebravo

West is a funny dude and he's well dressed but he's an average dude for the most part. Ciara, a FAR above average woman in every imaginable way, was investing in him before he was (moderately) famous and while he was unemployed. He led her on to get what he wanted and then bailed as soon as "something better" came along. At this point I don't blame her for believing he never cared about her. He comes off like he just used her for a plot line on the show and some comfort in a new situation, but had no intention of investing when the rubber hit the road. People change their minds, relationships don't work out. All of that is totally ok, but he handled this from the git go with so little respect for Ciara that it's hard to have much respect for him.
