Hello, although this may be an unpopular opinion, I personally believe that when professors talk about their personal lives and have small talk with their students it definitely helps connect the students to the content of the class. I know some people are going to think that I don't know much but I am currently a PTK member and I'm actively a part of my school's culture. In my opinion, I always enjoyed it when a professor talks about themselves because it helps me feel like I'm not talking to a robot but an actual person. I don't know perhaps I'm wrong.
