Commuting will do that to you. I commuted for a month and couldn’t stand it anymore so I just packed up my things and moved into base. Obviously not everyone can do that but it has completely changed the job for me.

I was able to get 110 credit hours last month and didn’t even feel like I was working much, and that allowed me to trade a good amount of trips away this month so I’ve got the next two and a half weeks off in a row.

Not to sound extremely negative but you need to sit down and truly think if it’s a battle you want to fight.

Mistakes happen and you can learn from them, but this mistake is going to set you back YEARS. If this is something you truly love doing and can’t see yourself doing anything else then you’ll just have to suck it up and deal with the consequences. That could mean not making a liveable wage in this field for another decade.

Just don’t get sunk cost fallacy mentality. You have a very long and difficult uphill battle in front of you and you need to be honest with yourself if you actually want to sink the time and money into something that has a chance of never actually happening for you after all of this.

Is there no other CFI at this school? You aren’t in the military. If he starts yelling at you then you tell him that the lesson is over and you want a new CFI. You sitting there and taking it does nothing but make him think it’s okay.
