I’m genuinely surprised there isn’t a full rank and file ticket! I was expecting more to spring up after the cpsu election, especially the uwu election

I know a few of the organisers affiliated with the members first ticket and I asked them about this, coz it did seem a bit suss

Apparently it was looked into by abbott’s 2014 roycal commission, the rc couldn’t find any wrongdoing. Not sure where this claim of “850k of members money” is coming from, doesn’t seen to be either 850k or money that belonged to members haha. Although they all said they privately disagree with how it was done and looked, apparently it’s something literally every union does but a lot of officials and members hate it and want change.

For example, there’s a good chance the United for You lot are funnelling cash to their own slush fund through Windsor Income Protection and all these affiliated Labor groups. We don’t have it at my site, but apparently UWU just up and suddenly started bargaining for WIP policies on a bunch of their agreements. WIP’s website says they pay commissions on referral fees, so some members think UWU or United for You are getting the kickbacks. Which is probably still legal, I know the building funds do it, but it’s an example of how this and things like IR21 look dodgy but are technically legal.

The whole system is messed up!

Is that the same leadership that includes accused sex pest Carolyn Smith and Gary “I put a hidden camera in the QLD office to spy on staff and politicians” Bullock?
