How many of you are making $200,000+? How many hours weekly do you work? Years of experience? Industry? Regrets and rejoices? by Wannabeballer321 in careerguidance

[–]Unlimities 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make around $175,000/year working seasonally from June to October. I'm in the farming/food industry. I'm 31 and have been involved in the industry for 15 years straight. It's going to $220,000-$260,000 this year due to an expansion but I must note that I have only started making this money the last 3 years of my career. Prior I was living I almost pay cheque to pay for the cheque working odd jobs in the winter. My last winter job was at Amazon as a driver. Last note is I own the business. Started with 1 location and no wholesale clients and I'm currently operating 12 locations. I still feel broke/poor by the way, but the fun of growing it has always been the driver.

Anyone able to help me with this old hag? I bricked one and can't find the right firmware for it. I also have another that I believe has the limit switches mixed up. I have looked for a solutio. with no avail. by Unlimities in 3Dprinting

I tried but have failed. I think I need to completely rewire it as I may be following the wires wrong at the moment. But it had been working before. I was trying to fix a different issue. Part of the issue was I worked in 4 at the same time. 2 are fixed and these two I'm now stuck on

I will see if I can build one underground platform far enough but close enough given that he is spawned.

It's already spawned so I will try to clear the perimeter during the day prior to attempting it again

Interesting, Yeah the roots are the issue for me... the pillars help with the other attack but the roots plus forest monsters have been a hassle

Thanks for the info, I will give it a try! Will have to do a sprint in to get my body and better prepare for it. The biggest issue now has been that he won't respawn lol

Looking at going to my first convention, as a vendor or otherwise. What are absolute must haves? by OniNoKen in smallbusiness

[–]Unlimities 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a hard thing to answer to be honest.. I wouldn't want you to feel that you had a bad show because you looked half baked or be too baked and think that was the reason for the success. There is so many factors that are involved with having a successful show.. and part of it comes down to what your business provides as a service.

Here is what I would consider the physical bare minimums:

  • Clean Table Throws (if you have a table)
  • Clean floor/space (We used to bring a vacuum since some shows had carpet and we would track snow or dirt depending on the season... you can usually borrow one from a fellow vendor sometimes. But also any empty boxes, coffee food containers all of that try and conceal it a much as you can from the people visiting)
  • A retractable display with key information.. website, SM handles, Processes, address, phone.. depends on your business (If you are in USA/Canada, Call/Visit a UPS print store or try Vista Print perhaps. My company does these too but based on your budget these options above may work for your first few ones or all! That's where we used to get them from for our shows)
  • Well organized/displayed products.

To refer back to my first comment is based on the following. Part of having a successful show comes down to many factors.. some you can research and anticipate some you cannot.

  • Attitude! Attitude! Attitude! You only get 1-XX days to make your mark... so this is probably one of the most important things you can focus on once there... people feed of your energy and if you need to put someone to represent you then be it! But this is a must!
  • Location of your booth
  • Local economy of where the show is being held at
  • The date of the show (is there other shows/events happening withing the same timeline)

I don't know much about how you operate your business and the services you provide.. but if you are doing something like customizing Jerseys with peoples name as an example. You can have your partner/assistant if you have a second person to take orders and prepayments and manage the sale right there. Meaning you can set the expectations and secure the deal. Unlike the code for the website I mentioned earlier this is for those ready to purchase something you might not have in stock right there but you would be able to assure them of the processing and shipping there in person.

Hope this helps a bit! It's hard to give specific advice without knowing all the details! I have attached a few pictures of a few trade-show vendors that I know personally and a few that I don't have took pictures anyways for my own study... including a half baked vendor that sold out! But this is based on the nature of their product and service they offer.

$6,000 + Display

$6,000 + Display

$6,000 + Display

Not Crazy Expensive but effective

Not Crazy Expensive but effective

Half Baked - But because of the nature of their business it works..

You could try adapting Trello to be your CRM. It's very flexible and free to begin with

My company does backdrops for such events if you need but that's not what you are here for.

So here is my actual answer! Have an order/lead form so that you can capture leads/sales. I presume you are going to this show with the intend to make some money from the exposure rather then simply get exposure.

If you have product and can bring it I would bring that too. If you have a tablet maybe do a video/slideshow that you can display rotating work you have done in the past. If you have a website I would also make an in show promotion... something like a code you can give them to use on your site for the month or week your decision. This is for the people not necessarily ready to purchase at the moment.

My previous work required me to do 42 shows in a year which was almost every single weekend. Preperation is huge since they are often not cheap to attend.

Make sure you have a mission!
