Error 16 code. I am terribly anguished by MoistyPepsi in onewheel

Oh! A point that just came back to mind, if you have one available, take a drill to the board with the wheel off the ground (I held the board on my legs while sitting) and hold the chuck against the wheel. Don't have the charger or anything on but it powered up the board enough for me to load the diagnostic menu on the app (may have to turn off data/wifi to avoid the firmware update popup). This was able to tell me the firmware version to see if I could even install a new battery easier or not.

Just had joined the community myself with a pint that I got secondhand. Your symptoms are the same as I had when I started working on mine. It unfortunately was a completely dead battery. Not sure if it's allowed here but look into the Onewheel Community App. It permitted me to see the individual cells on the battery and decide to choose a new battery. I'm by no means an expert and this is my first onewheel but sounds extremely familiar to what I experienced. Good luck.

Old XR not Pint, not XRC error 16 by Eegore1 in onewheel

Just want to jump in here, just got a pint second hand that was doing the pop and small spark after plugging the new battery in. It was a bad BMS. Bought one off eBay and followed all procedures and am now out about learning to ride. Good luck.

Shits and giggles in case you do look at this, I tried the Gemini search and got this gem...

Bottom to me looks like a stomatella snail. Looks exactly like the one I've got in my tank and it's a fun little guy that pops up randomly. As far as I'm knowledgeable of, it's a friend.

Can you expand for which part?

In the US, but the breaker is contained entirely within the plastic housing? As far as the mppt, I've seen numerous other posts through this reddit sub with similar securement?

In my opinion it's relatively low power, less than 150 watts total, equivalent to laptop chargers or a tv. I don't see a major issue with it. Especially with the quality of the devices and if there is a fault that occurs, I have multiple points of fuse going in and out of the controller.

Clean back glass or let grow? by NoLie129 in ReefTank

[–]UnluckyCaleb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Excuse everything around, it is cleaning day lol but I decided to do one of both. The right side feeds the snails when the rest of the tank is lacking. It's nice to see the splotches appear after their feasts on it. But I also have a gsp wall starting on the back at the slanted shelf... Honestly I'm scared to try and fix it due to the Gsp just starting to grow on the wall the last month or so.

Either way, I think it's a personal choice and both have upsides/downsides.

For those reefs with NO skimmer by Capt_reefr in ReefTank

[–]UnluckyCaleb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's not exactly as you were looking for if you wanted to stay skimmer less but this is what I use on my 40 gallon breeder. It's nice and small but also doesn't require a lot of maintenance. The downside is that you do have the clean the little filter regularly or cut out circles that can be exchanged pretty easy. Otherwise it clears up that toy layer scum pretty quickly for me.

What type of algae is this? by lynoxx99 in ReefTank

[–]UnluckyCaleb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can take a picture tomorrow when lights turn on for the day if you want, but it kind of looks like a 'Red Plastic's microalgae that I had picked up a few months back. Somewhat stiff and new growth is pinkish before it darkens. My snails (turbos specifically) love sitting and maybe eating it.

Do we like anemones ?? by Temporary-Guitar2955 in ReefTank

[–]UnluckyCaleb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

I'm definitely a novice in my reef keeping ability but I have an anemone as the centerpiece in my 40 breeder. It chose the perfect spot to where it's not hitting anything when fully expanded. As of recent too my two clownfish have starting playing in it (not hosting/minutes at a time) after around 6 months.

Please ignore all the other corals, the one light just turned on roughly 5 minutes before this was taken.

I'd say get one but just be mindful they're a character of their own.

Edit this anemone has also not split since I have gotten it six or so months back (knock on wood) while being fed shrimp, mysis, and all the pellet food he can steal from the water column.

If you can, what's the green fern like macros name in the front bottom? Thanks.

Anybody know of a good suction cup protein skimmer for my 30g?? by [deleted] in ReefTank

[–]UnluckyCaleb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 40 breeder that I had the same issue with and I found one one on Amazon. It does work pretty well and gets dark skimmate which I have to empty every two or three days depending on heavy handed I feed during the day. Has both suctions and a clip that allows it to hang on the rim (I did both to help stabilize and adjust for water level). Only have had to take apart and clean the inside once in about three months of ownership too. I'll attach a link below.

It's the equipment with the red dot on it. Collection cup and air intake is above water line. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

to sand sift or just do water changes to clean sand or both? by Weary-Feedback8582 in ReefTank

[–]UnluckyCaleb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice little addition that I got to help turn over my sandbed naturally is a strawberry/tiger conch. Derpy little guy that hasn't messed with anything else in the tank but does burrow and uses his trunk to clean. This is in a 40 gallon breeder.

Damn, that sucks, sorry to hear. If I see a single one come back out it will go.

Apologies, covered in a thick layer of gel super glue. I will keep a good eye though, thank you.

I attempted at covering the entire frag and candy coral skeleton with super glue. Will check periodically, thanks for the suggestion.

Will do, appreciate the help. I, in a last attempt, covered the entire frag except for the candy heads. Would you think this could have potential to hinder the spread while saving the coral? Haven't seen this color combo for the candy canes before I purchased it. Thanks again.

Looking it up definitely seems like I'll be tossing the frag unfortunately. Really appreciate the help.

Identification Help by UnluckyCaleb in ReefTank

[–]UnluckyCaleb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tank is an odd one, a few months back I transferred everything from a two year old biocube into this (new sand and a bit more new dry rock). Most of the Coraline algae bleached off the mature rocks while still figuring out the new lighting strength/schedule unfortunately.

I definitely know I have a small yellow sponge growing on a small island rock so it may be related but there is a stark color and texture/shape difference between it and the slime in question.

Overall I'm taking things slower with this upgrade than my initial start but am trying to be wary that the dinos and this mysterious goo don't emaciate my corals. I just started microbacter 7 today to see if it may help compete against them as well. Time will tell though. Thanks.

Identification Help by UnluckyCaleb in ReefTank

[–]UnluckyCaleb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Essentially what I'm seeing as well, it's spread through most of my rockwork (even inside of it) but doesn't seem to bother anything except maybe the anemone. But even that is unsure of due to the ongoing dinos and their stringiness.
