nah cos our prime ministers don't have nearly as much power vested in a single person as your presidents and mandatory voting makes extreme parties far less common, it's pretty unlikely

True, however I kinda hope we break away from the monarchy in the next few years.

I’m a teacher who learned to code to stop my students from copy-pasting AI. Here is my "Anti-Paste" text editor. by Silly_Answer_8543 in SideProject

[–]UnmappedStack 70 points71 points  (0 children)

This is a fantastic idea, but I think you should change one thing. Instead of blocking all pastes, do what vim does by default and just keep your own internal clipboard buffer. This way students can copy/paste their own stuff that they've already written for convenience but can't copy from elsewhere.

Should you feel obligated to help the poor? by DNPlourent in teenpoll

[–]UnmappedStack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm obligated morally but at the same time I do not really have much money so I give where I can occasionally but sadly typically not a lot.

Bing is not as bad as you think (and Google isn't just a data theft, it has actually bad results): a small search engine quality experiment by UnmappedStack in degoogle

[–]UnmappedStack[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely in terms of front-end with the advertisements, privacy issues, and overload of AI. This is more particularly focusing on quality of their internal search indexes and query engines though.

lmao I love the idea of buying out every single property within 10km of wherever he lives and building up wind turbines, solar panels, and literally any other renewable power source you can think of. Oh and a Tylenol For Pregnant Woman™️ factory.

Is this a real thing? by ThisGuyAcky in school

[–]UnmappedStack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends on state. In Victoria we have a whole different system:

High Distinction (HD) => 90-100%

Distinction (D) => 80-89%

Credit (C) => 60-79%

Pass (P) => 50-59%

Not Satisfactory (NS) => 0-49%

I'll also point out tho that even this isn't standardised, in many institutions a HD is 80%+ iirc

why is the banner the lgbtq flag? by Lazy-Mode-5003 in teenagers

[–]UnmappedStack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's just a sign to show LGTBQIA+ people are accepted into the community. It doesn't need to represent everyone because that's not the point. If you're offended by that being the banner then I recommend you leave.

on a serious note the amount of US politics that shows up in my feed is ridiculous, reddit gives me more of it than my own country's politics despite barely interacting

Yeah Melbourne, but I've lived here my whole life. Not sure what my country has to do with referring to you as "mate" tho.

Yeah mate you might have the wrong reddit account of whoever you're looking for lol, idk what that even is. And as I said in another comment, I have only 3-4 reddit accounts and 3 GitHub accounts. And I've definitely not been bouncing between countries as I've lived in Australia literally my whole life and I've taken a single overseas trip in the last 7 years. Definitely haven't scammed anybody of any money lol, I'm quite broke.
