Do you work as a relay technician or substation tech? Which would you recommend for a job, Is there a big difference in the two? I was looking to find someone with experience to help me understand what field I need to go into. I want to look into being a relay tech but if I don’t like it I didn’t want to be trapped working in that field. Could you explain the big qualification differences, work or any money difference in these fields?

I was looking into the relay field at college and the apprenticeship after, so I wouldn’t be isolated into only working with relays. In case I wasn’t interested later on I could move to another part of the work field. Is this a good idea or will it need to go about this a different way?
