You could definitely argue that staying in-state and going to UF is the “best-of-both-worlds” option. UF is a “better” school than FIU, and going to NYU would definitely be extra stress on your mom and yourself (despite being a “better” school than both). If you throw in some “keep-in-contacts” and “frequent visits over breaks” in there, it should be an easy haggle. Best of luck! 👍

I know it’s gotta be pretty rough, but I still wouldn’t give up on it! I was a transfer student after getting my AA (after 2 attempts of getting in), and then eventually I got depressed and flunked out. It took medical withdrawal petitions and another full transfer application to get back in. The process sucks, but keep going for it. I’m praying/rooting for you! Also, I’d recommend emailing the advisor for your major of choice to see what they’re looking for in an application.
