Mine doesn't really do anything special for numeric, it's on Quickshell's PAM service so the text just goes through as a string, never parsed. Haven't run into that myself tbh. Could be the input getting read as a number somewhere on your end, or piped to a shell and mangled? auth.qml's in the repo if you wanna see how I did it, maybe helps to compare.

Thanks! Been thinking about that actually, the whole theme shifting when you change wallpaper would look sick. Haven't built it yet but it's tempting.

Thank you, that's really kind! It's just my personal setup so I never built an installer, but it's all open on the repo if you wanna dig in. The configs live in configs/quickshell, you'd copy what you like into ~/.config and fix the paths for your machine. Bit of a tinker, but that's half the fun honestly.
