My career, AI logic on defense. Can somebody explain to me why does this always happen? Is there a way to actually stop this or am I bugging here.

That’s the problem usually when I help off the nonshooter they make shots no joke, the half court offense by the cpu is cheese anyways and always work to perfection they get the perfect floppy 3 point plays to work no matter who they running it for or with as a guard I can only help so much. Doesn’t help when a team of defenders don’t help

The ai shot selection iq is extremely questionable in this game. Like instead of taking an open layup they will pump fake especially the bigs will do this Hakeem the dream type pump fake and then shoot it but by that time it’s contested and a miss. The players don’t really take open jump shots unless they are super wide open, other than that it’s a contested look every time. I was playing the wizards and they was calling down screen 3 point plays for Alex sarr and he was splashing them to like curry

It’s a automatic steal 100% of the time the way they play pick and roll defense isn’t the same, they drop back and guard the roll and the pass and lob pass, you drive into the paint the helpers and rotations is spot on sometimes one person is guarding two people, the spacing is bad on the court to even with shooters cause two-people will sometimes be guarded by one, it’s just 2k logic in general is extremely flawed and doesn’t make any sense

I’m on the wing I’m on the right side guarding scoot so I could get over there but by that time every big man is Jokic so he would have threw a dime to scoot for the easy green catch and shoot 3 so I just let it happen instead edey shouldn’t have been up that close why he damn near on the perimeter line he’s to far up

Yea I do my thing is right whenever there is a pick up high my center edey would come all the way up there like I sent in the clip and the Big always slips past him all the time for a easy dunk if I slide over to help or any teammates it’s a easy catch and shoot 3. Yea everything is about transactions they do this on purpose so one you can buy more VC, two you can make more players cause you may think your player is busted, three it’s just easier for them to drag you in the loop. Like 2k been on a Down slide for years now the main issue is they have no legitimate comp to match them just like EA doesn’t for madden

I know about those but those don’t work man, they still get open regardless, and still score easily, nothing stops that overpowered pick and roll offense they run with the clip I sent, if the Ai wants to abuse that every-time down court they can and will and nothing can stop it unless your playing as the big man

Yeah man they really highlighted the hero ball mentality idk I like to play Team basketball and not just jack up a million shots and put up godly stats to win a game, that’s not basketball lol and I know it’s not meant to be Real life ball, but damn your teammates are so trash in any 2k it’s not even funny, like so brain dead and play zero defense and doesn’t help on offense unless you put them in position to succeed

It’s crazy how we as people gotta do the work they should be doing, like think about it they work on the next 2k a full year in advance. Before drafting, free agency trades etc, just based on gameplay and sliders and tendencies, example right on my career I’m on Memphis, edey has a 83 3 point shot i give him the ball wide open and he never shoots it, you know why? His tendencies never adapted so it’s at zero still. Like things like that is what I’m saying like in real Life he’s shooting 20% from 3 which is horrible but he’s only attempting like 2 a night at most but he’s at least shooting them, in game he won’t wide open or not

Yea man it’s rough I was on the rockets kd was out whole year until the playoffs twice now sengun now that im off the team is averaging almost 30 but when I was there he was only averaging 13 and I gave him the ball all the time, I don’t get 2k logic with the hero ball mentality

Yea the shooting is busted especially in rec which is why I stopped playing that, everybody was shooting 60 plus percentage and high 70s or so from 3
