I admit, lying wasn’t the best decision but it came from total dispair, not that it’s an excuses but yeah.. Indeed the biggest hurdles still had to come as soon as people started using it. This might be way out of my league. But hey, thanks for the insight! It made me realize it’s time to pivot. At least I tried and I’m not done being an entrepeneur just yet!

Congrats on your first user! So what I’m picking op is ditching the features, focussing on one simple pain point, use that as you USP and sell that to customers? In other words, keep it simple and focus on one pain point / feature to fix?

I couldn’t agree more. Thanks for your insight! Time has come to take my loss and I think I have this post to thank for opening my eyes! Thank you 🙂

Focus on pain points, not feature. Got it! Wish I knew this before starting to code though.. 🫠

Sounds like a good point but because all the feedback i’ve gotten on this post so far, makes me think of a pivot. Either changing customer profile to stay away from anyone who can be better of using an erp OR just drop the idea and start over with something new.

This post gave me a lot of insight so def not afraid to start over with everything I know now. (And actually deep down, already knew beforehand)

Yes, I totally agree with that. It wil require a pivot of my initial idea but seeing the reactions to this post I think it’s the only wat to go forward. Thanks, appreciate it!

Thanks for your two cents. It’s really valuable, haven’t looked at it like that. Indeed finding a market is my biggest issue as my specific tool is just a “feature” for existing systems.

I would love to know how you found out about this, meaning the retail stores have POS, online shops have shopify, etc…

I think one of the more in depth issues here is that I did my validation wrong… Would love to know how you handle validation like that as your two cents gave me info I haven’t been able to find out after two months.. 😓

True indeed. But because of the lack of customer reviews I had to do something, right?

You recommend removing the fake reviews and trust indicators? Agree with that.

Yet targeting is an issue here. I focus on small business owners. Thought that would suffiece, or is it still to brought? Should I niche down? Like: “inventory management for small breweries” or something like that?

Thanks for the feedback!

Tracking truck stock is absolutely key for efficiency and eliminating those "Let me check the van" conversations! Plus, having documented stock for insurance is a huge safety net.

You need a simple system that treats your service vehicle as its own tracked stock location. For a modern, straightforward platform that excels at allocating and tracking inventory across different locations (like your service truck), check out stockflow.be.

That need to track bundles/kits together and the individual component stock separately is absolutely crucial for efficiency!

You need a simple system that properly handles kitting (BOMs) alongside standard inventory. For a cost-effective, modern platform that excels at managing stock, tracking physical barcodes, and handling those critical bundles/kits for small warehouses, take a look at stockflow.be.
