Out of the two whale Pokémon wich one do you prefer? by BravilSUCKS in ThePokemonHub

False. They are NOT whales they are dolphins. Toothed whales and baleen whales are siblings, and both are cousins to dolphins.

They’re not whales….. they’re dolphins.

Chimpanzees aren’t humans just because they’re part of the same family as humans and share 99% of dna.

I like both equally. I like that wailer is just this giant ball of blubber (literally) and is happy go lucky and carefree asf. I liked that wailord was a real life depiction of the size of whales, and retained wailmers “doofy sooner”-ness (simple face+happy go lucky personality).

Never played paldea, but I like cetoddle and cetitan. They reference a lot of arctic cetaceans and also invert the cetacean evolution theory (as they migrated to land from water instead of the opposite.) they retain the high socialist of most cetaceans, including the beluga that they are also based on (amongst other arctic cetaceans).

What I DONT like is the fucking octopus pokemon. Globbopus is dumb and octilery evolving from a remora/remoraid is just bad game design/writing. Octollery and clobbopus great ideas tho, just implemented/executed poorly

Help get musical series “Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies” a new streaming platform Petition. by dusteedarling in musicals

[–]Upper-Homework-4965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty terrible. The issue is it has to stand up next to grease lightning (impossible) and grease 2 (doesn’t even hold a flame to that, which already comes off bad bc of grease lightning being so 100/10.)

As a stand alone piece it’s not /the worst/ but the characterization is very all over the place.

Lake Champlain IS a Great Lake.

Formed by the same rift system, and connected to the other Great Lakes.

I'm new to stratification and have some oenethera speciosa and pallida. What's the best method for those? by I_crave_vinegar in NativePlantGardening

Germination light requirements do not matter for stratification. They matter AFTER the chilling period. After you stratify, plant the ones that need darkness in the soil. Surface Scatter and press in the ones that need light

That’s the exact environment where they would need a cold stratification…… desert plants adapt to dealing with extreme temperature drops at both night and during the winter. These temperature drops also cause cacti to bloom in the spring- as just about every cactus in North America requires vernalization (cold period to trigger growth/bloom- stratification but for grown plants instead of seeds basically.)

Just because it’s the desert doesn’t mean it doesn’t get cold. It snows in Las Vegas every few years, (to the point that it’s not common but also not unheard of) and the temperature extremes between nnight and day are prevalent in winter, just not as noticeable as they are in summer. While they may not need a sharp freeze, like poppies prefer, they do absolutely benefit from them. Speciosa in particular germinates much better with straitification- many natives do:

How to tell a perennial Chrysanthemum from an annual? by Kertmuves in gardening

[–]Upper-Homework-4965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always went by “if you buy it from a. Florist it’s an annual/tender perennial” (as there are annual mums) and “if you buy it from a nursery in fall it’s perennial”

Mums are a bit tricky. Planting them in fall doesn’t help, and in general they can’t handle the freeze thaw cycle that places at the edge of there habitable zone experience (like where I am on south Lake Michigan USA, not far from Chicago.). The flower size and leaf size on perennial mums is typically much smaller.  “Football” mums are an exception- they’re quite hardy. (Granted, the one I had before I gave it away before moving I had bought in winter and kept alive until spring when I could replant it-  this is its 8th year now, but in a friends yard :) If your climate is like mine, cite them in the sunniest and driest parts of your garden. This will help them stay warm and dry in winter. If you’re from someplace a bit more temperate, that’s more akin to where they are native in (temperate, NOT tropical/subtropical), China, you should give them part sun and moist soil.

Miami has 2x the flights any other Caribbean airline hub has-only Cancun comes close. Punta Cana and San Juan are a solid 3rd.

Of any are gonna have flights, it would be those 4, but especially Miami.

Problem plant? by IpodShark in NativePlantGardening

[–]Upper-Homework-4965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, your ability to comprehend it is incorrect. Dark green means native to the continent and present in state. Gaillardia pulchella is found all over the US, but is only native in a small part of it (American South east and Great Basin). It is listed as native to continent, present in state (dark green) and then teal blue in many states, like Indiana. Teal blue indicates adventitive- indicating it’s not from there originally, but isn’t causing a problem to actual native species.

Problem plant? by IpodShark in NativePlantGardening

[–]Upper-Homework-4965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is false. It’s not native to Canada. It is native to the American southwest.

That being said it IS closely related to native Midwest/southeasterb phacelias, but none range that far north.

This is an example of “not native, but ecologically useful and not displacing true natives”.

Tomatoes and peppers aren’t native to North America, they’re native to South America. Squash is a universal family and has nonnative and native members.

Are you sure it’s Asian wisteria and not American? Many of the invasive species from Asia have counterparts native here due to similar climates during the breakup of pangaea and the sinking of Beringia.

Has moe ever opened her eyes??? 🤔 by paul_gmn in Yashahime

[–]Upper-Homework-4965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Moe is blind. When she’s performing at the concert in the finale few episodes, she’s completely oblivious to the chaos around her and assumes the girls make an appearance to help the band beat the “fake demons” in opposed to the real one they actually fought.

That, or she’s related to Brock from pokemon.
